Gopi Dining Hall serves only thalis. The 2 different types of thalis served here are - 'Gujarati Thali' and 'Kathiyawadi Thali'. Kathiyawad is the local name of Saurashtra, Gujarat, so, the regional food is served in this thali. Gujarati food has 'Kadhi', 'Dal' and 'Vegetables' which contains some sugar or jaggery in it, so, some people do not like its taste, but, Kathiyawadi food is not sweet and therefore it is liked by many non-Gujaratis who do not like their savoury items having some sweetness in it. The décor of the place is simple and elegant. The food is served in a large oblong stainless steel thali with a smaller round thali inside it. In the large thali, they place all the small bowls on the edges and the smaller round thali is placed in the centre. The inside round place is used to serve the savoury snacks, the chutney, salads and different types of flatbreads. Here, you can taste authentic Gujarati food and each day the menu changes, but, the basic items remain the same, so a thali contains 2 green vegetables, 1 potato vegetable, one dal or kadhi, 1 beans preparations, rice, papad, salad, chutneys, 2 savoury items and 2 sweet items. There is also buttermilk, ghee, jaggery, green chillies and garlic chutney to round things up. The food is unlimited.
