Ahmedabad has 5 Mirch Masala outlets and they are all based on the same theme and even the interiors are similar but what is different is the taste since each outlet has its own chef. The Mirch Masala restaurant in Chandkheda is located on the first floor. It has an old looking wooden door with a decorative shade on top of it. As you enter inside, there is a small reception area which separates the space from the restaurant. Placed between the reception area and the restaurant is an old motorcycle strategically placed with the front half protruding outside into the reception area. The restaurant is done up in a roadside Dhaba-style with roofing tiles, wooden benches and chairs and old utensils and film posters used as decorating on the walls. The food is served in bell metal or Kansa metal and also served in it. This place has good North Indian and Punjabi style vegetarian food like 'Sarson Da Saag' and 'Makkai di Roti' in the winter and 'Makkai Tikki' in the monsoon. In fact, the restaurant has lots of monsoon delicacies like 'Mirchi Wada' and 'Makkai Lababdar' on its monsoon special menu. But the regular menu is also extensive and definitely worth trying. If you want to try something different from the regular starters, try the 'Papak Da Kebab' or the 'Angoori Cheese Kebab' if you are vegetarian. Non-vegetarians can try from the extensive non-vegetarian kebabs on offer. Order the 'Chilli Mili Hara Murgh Tikka' or the 'Pahadi Tikka'. For the main course, go for the 'Paneer Methi Malai' or the 'Tej Hari Subzi' if you like spicy food. Non- vegetarians have a choice of chicken and mutton. Go for 'Shikari Murgh Tawa Ka' and 'Kadhai Gosht'. You can end with biryani or just plain rice and dal. Go for 'Zafrani Murgh Biryani', if you are looking for something heavy.
