Sometimes all you need is a space that gives you a cold beer, some spicy food to go with it and an open-air ambience that lets you take in the best of Bangalore. In a way, that is what Andhra Kafe does. It has the popular beers on offer and Geist, Bangalore’s very own, on tap now. If it is a working day, you can go the whole hog with an unlimited steamed rice thali. If you are being a little more restrained, then there are great "thalis in Chicken, Mutton and seafood". But be warned, spice levels are rather high on all the dishes. Perhaps that is why they have come up with their "Chaala Hot Combos" which include a trio of 'Buttermilk', 'Chilli Chicken' or 'Spicy Potato Fry', a 'Biryani', in meat and vegetarian. The Buttermilk will do a seriously good job of cooling you down, besides the beers. The vegetarian side dishes here are crowd pleasers – potato, gobi, paneer and mushroom based. In the meat and fish, you have the likes of 'Andhra Kebabs, 'Mutton Roast and Chops', 'Prawn Pepper Roast' and seer 'Fish Fries'. There is a range of gravies to pair with rice, rotis, pooris and even biryani rice. The 'Egg Curry', 'Fish Pulusu' and 'Kheema Curry' come highly recommended. The restaurant has homemade ice creams in some interesting flavours to wrap up a meal here.
After a movie at Prestige Shantiniketan went for a lunch thali pre-booked via Eazydiner worth INR 154. The ambience is very simple and nice. The thali was served on a banana leaf within a disposable dried leaf plate. Paper glasses were provided. The Andhra veg thali had 2 pooris, some rice a lil, pappad, potato fry dry curry, chutney, plain white rice, curd, payasam served in eco friendly bowls. They had one dry veg curry, Dal palak curry, rasam and sambar. Pickle was common on all table and very salty. Gun powder was also on every table. The chutney and Dal palak curry was very good. Rest all were ok. Payasam was very sweet made of semolina. There was lottts of house fly around the eating area..though they had the mosquito attracter instrument...we couldn't eat properly. I did not feel it worth INR 154/-. Overall food was ok and worth a visit once.
I've been here once for lunch and would love to go back. The food is great and reasonably priced. The open air ambiance gives it a rustic feel of small town restaurants and the service is good. Tried the chicken biryani and it was good. The spicy potato fry is a must have. However, if you are someone who does not like spicy food this is not the place for you. The butter chicken was the only non-spicy dish that I tried here. It tasted quite good with roti.
I had dinner here 3 times while my stay in Bangalore. Food taste was authentic and have flavour of Andhra. Menu was fill with non veg dishes as compare to veg food. Over all place is very nice to hangout .
we got the veg and non veg thali Food was good but the rice was reheated multiple times Nice ambience car park available Should try once Average veg thali costs 144+tax Average chicken thali costs 270+tax The way they serve is impressive
This restaurant was right next to Zuri hotel. Had gone for dinner with a colleague and was worth every single penny. The ambiance and feel of this restaurant was very relaxing and nice. It is an open restaurant where one can enjoy Bengaluru weather with good quality food. service was fast and nice. taste of food was good nice balanced taste. Would recommend people to visit this place if they in whitefield.
