I always love myself a good Asian meal. Throw in some good sushi and I will be the happiest. And that is why Big Wong XL came onto the radar for me. There is a lot of good food to be had, so think portions well. Start off with some Dimsums – the 'Crystal Vegetarian' one with pepper and mushroom, the 'Corn and Waterchestnuts' and the 'Chicken with Thai Herbs' are great choices. Moving on to the sushi – again ample choices for vegetarians and meat eaters. The 'Asparagus Tempura Roll' and the 'Tunaki Roll with Radish Pickle, Cucumber and Apple' are great. The 'Spicy Salmon and the Ebi Rolls' too are good choices. Of course, there are platters that take the hassle out of making a choice and has a good mix on it. And, if soup must find its way to the table, the 'Tom Kha, as well as the 'Chicken Sake Wine Soup with sliced chicken and BokChoy' make for wonderful choices. There is a wonderful set of dishes for the main course. I especially liked the 'Cambodian Style Chicken Curry' in coconut milk with shrimp paste, lemon leaf and lemongrass. Pair this with some sticky rice and you have a great meal. There is a good range of rice and noodles – try the 'Korean Ramyun Noodles' or the 'Tonkatsu Udon Noodles'.
This place is great if you are a die-hard sushi lover. They have the best Rainbow sushi and prawn sushi. I haven't had the opportunity yet to try out the rest of the menu as I we usually end up eating all of their sushi menu (sometimes even repeating 'em).
I visited this place for my birthday lunch. We ordered Chicken Sake Wine for starters, Rainbow sushi and Tonkatsu Udon noodles for main course. I have to admit that the food was really good but the star of the show was the shushi. The rainbow sushi had a mix of Tuna, crab meat, salmon and avocado served with a salty dip. The rice was sweet and well complimented the dip. The noodles and chicken starter was good too but not something which you wouldn’t find in other restaurants. There aren’t much options for drinks here though. Food: sushi is a must try Ambience: comfortable and cozy Music: You’ll love this place if you are a metal head Service: courteous and prompt
We visited this simple, artistic and lively restaurant tucked during the nightfall which seems quiet bright from outlook and inviting from inside. The entrance passage is adorned with a large sets of potted plants; sufficient amount of light, gaiety atmosphere and latest songs was the perfect seatings for us. Some buzzword frames are beautified on wall cordial to the name of this place and has nice casual dining area. The staff is inviting and hospitable and serves good quality food in generous portion. Everything they offers is hot and fresh and have a wide varieties of traditional Oriental food. We tried here, CUMIN KOKUM : This chilled garnet red Kokum drink with the dash of Cumin tried for the first time, every sip is lovingly filled with natural freshness and sweetness. SUSHI PLATTER SEAFOOD : Sushi is something which is must try for blooming different taste and being a colossal sushi lover, we tried their colourful array of motley seafood sushis consists of total 20 Clean-cuts Nigiri’s, Uramaki and Hosa-maki rolls served with wasabi, pickled ginger and soy-sauce found out very mediocre in taste. CHICKEN TERIYAKI BOWL : A generous amount of hot sticky rice mixed with sesame seeds bowl engulfed with a lovely mix of shiitake mushroom cuts, fresh bamboo shoots and tenderest chicken stripes with a zing of shiny teriyaki sauce oozes out amazing Asian flavour .In spite of Rice, they do have an option of Udon Noodles. BANOFFEE PIE : This Jarlie based cumulated Pie newest in their dessert list is wondrously layered dessert donned with buttery crumbled biscuits, fresh sweetened whipped cream, Banana circles and pulverised coffee-ish toffees is melllowy sweet to dawdled in the end of the meal. Must try! We’ll surely visit next time to try their each type of Sushi(definitely not a platter) and recommend all to have Chinese delicacies. This place is suitable for friends, family and get together. Report Card : Ambience : 4/5 Hospitality : 4/5 Taste : 3/5 Value for Money : 4/5 Hygiene : 4.5/5
We really had some authentic experience on lunch. The staff is really courteous and the food was as per our expectation and really good. Quantity was not bad serving 3 adult foodies. I feel few dishes were a bit over priced but certainly mouthwatering. Please reserve a table before you plan your visit.
I went with my family and thoroughly enjoyed the food, staff are excellent and friendly. There are good options for soups and variety of teas is impressive. Reasonably priced and Chinese cuisine with Indian touch. Good for a quick visit.
