Jayanagar has been growing as far as the restaurant scene goes and how! We now have a brewpub of our own, and it has 4 beers on tap. The menu is a fairly decent one with enough finger foods and a decent set of main courses. Let us talk about the beers first shall we – the 'Pilsner' is great for anyone just starting out, perhaps not up there in the big leagues, but will do well. I personally loved the 'ESB' – a toffee and caramel malt with a nice mix of sweet and bitter, leaning more towards the bitter. The 'Stout' is a solid as far as the coffee flavours go, but not too overwhelming. They did not have their usual 'Pale' on offer when I visited, but the 'Wit' they served instead was a good one. Now coming to the food – the 'Chilli Paneer' and 'Chilli Egg' are great starters to go with the beer. Of course, they also make good partners to a rather potent 'Kiwi Ice Tea' which comes with tequila and vodka mixed in. The menu has some regional favourites – like the 'Missal Pav', though I do not personally think anyone from Maharashtra would approve of it. It is good as far as the spice hit goes, but that's about it. If you want to wrap up on something sweet as is the norm after a night on the town, the popular 'Gulab Jamun' and 'Rabdi' are a good pick, the Rabdi being exceptional. The beer samplers are charged at Rs 50 a pop, so you may want to pick and choose.
