The restaurant looks as grand as the Roman Colosseum with uniform luxurious seating. The entire place has bright beige undertones, with shades of grey. Coming to the food, the confit lamb shanks here are tender and robust and are accompanied by palm crushed potatoes, garlic glazed seasonal vegetables, glazed shallots, sautéed spinach and pumpkin puree. Vegetarians can try their mushroom dish called koonu fry, where local mushrooms are marinated, fried till crispy and tossed with fresh ginger, onions and tomatoes.
Visited with my friend for dinner. Taste wise food was okay. But today morning got severe stomach ache, vomitting n dehydration. Seems the fish was not apt to be used for cooking.
Great place, highly trained staff, good food, warm environment. Excellent. It is part of the Taj Bangalore airport hotel which is in itself a great place with other eateries on the premises.

We had dinner at Cafe 77 East. It was a good experience with helpful staff and the dishes were well presented. I was disappointed when it came to paying the bill with my MasterCard. I specifically asked that the transaction should be completed in Indian rupees and was quite struck when I noticed that Taj had reverted to carrying out the payment in GB pounds at a rate that was unfavourable for me, and their staff were not able to anything about it. I would therefore like to warn Taj customers with non-rupee credit cards to look out for this when they are paying for any meals or room charges. Taj seem to be getting away with this and hoping customers will not notice or complain. Tejinder Hunjan
