Chaayos

Chaayos is a cafe in Jayanagar, Bangalore serving tea, beverages and sandwiches. Known for premium tea blends and quick bites; ideal for quick tea breaks and casual hangouts.

Extremely disappointed with the service. Order for Idly and poha. They served only poha. They forgot to serve idly. When I have asked refund or change menu they denied.
And main thing don't order idly. They are not preparing fresh. They are bringing from somewhere in plastic and then use microwave and served. It is not hygienic at all. Please avoid this place.

Below is idly. It is not fresh.

Flies inside. They were supposed to have AC ( and i believe it was running) - but it was cooler outside. . we ordered a shikanji soda.

Update: I would request that the kitchen staff keep their chit-chat a bit low volume. Sitting outside on the balcony area was much more pleasant, even with noisy traffic. A pleasant place to linger with a beverage , the outside seating was good.

After placing the order through the qr code, then they come to us and say that you'll get refund as Hot beverages are available. AC didn't work, Hot Beverages are not served. Provided the option to order only cold beverages. Pathetic service. Why can't they put a board or inform us earlier while we took the seat.

It was my first visit to this franchise and I should say that the ambience in part makes up for how expensive the menu items are. There was a bit of confusion with respect to the ordering part with us scanning a virtual menu card and paying online but once it was done, the whole thing seemed to make a lot of sense and was pretty seamless.
The chai was great but yeah, no matter how good, the underlying fact is that it was costly. Maybe a visit here and there but not making this a habit.

Extremely disappointing service. I have been a loyal customer here, even during the time when the AC was not working for nearly 2 months and the food menu was often unavailable. Despite that, I continued coming here and placed orders almost daily for over 2 months.
Today, I was not feeling well, so I ordered just a coffee and started working. After 2 hours, a staff member came and told me that I must place an order every hour or leave, even though the cafe was only about 50% to 60% occupied. I tried explaining that I am a regular customer and usually order frequently, just not today due to my health. The response was simply that it does not matter.
I wanted to complete 100 visits by the end of this month, but this kind of treatment makes loyalty feel meaningless. Sadly, I will be looking for another cafe.

My visits here are more than 70+ times , and tea taste and quantity was excellent in starting , now from the last 7 to 8 visits, I am really disappointed with their service, taste and quantity. The tea is not even half a cup now, where tea quantity was 3/4th of the cup. It's really bad because we are not getting for what we are paying (129rs) for one tea . We stand near the billing counter, staff will keep doing their work even after seeing us which completely shows disrespect. If the same thing happens , chaayos gonna lose customers . Staff is so irresponsible that they serve plain tea without add-ons even after mentioning the flavours where tea will be tasteless.
Breakfast combo they offer till noon 12 , which i liked upma and ghee podi idly but unfortunately from last 8 to 9 visits it's out of stock idk how long they need to restock a few items. Rest is too costly for what they serve.

Thank you .

Update: I've been here several dozen times. It is absolutely a raging success and there are often no seats to sit at. They've stepped up the quality game and prices (which are very VFM). I highly recommend this place for tea enthusiasts and people who want to get some work done.

At first it seemed like a ridiculous idea that a Chaayos would open ten steps besides Starbucks. I was wrong, this place being more budget friendly and having the true Indian Chai, Starbucks isn't much of a match. Sure, they haven't gone out of business, but this Chaayos branch isn't particularly suffering either. This means that the food they serve isn't frozen old stock - most items are fresh or at least from the same day's supplies. Basically you aren't going to come home and sit in the restroom all night. The Chaayos membership of Rs 99/- is also an enticing offer giving you a certain percent off the price in food every time you order and free WiFi. However, in my experience if you aren't someone who will regularly visit the place several times a week, don't get the membership. Beware, the person taking your order will try real hard and force it upon you. Good place for a quick chai or even for a few hours to get some work done.

Unfortunately- Now Looking for another Cafe!!

As a regular visitor been there many times between 8-10pm but always found either lack of food items I wanted to try (such as Malai cheeni toast, Ajwain Paratha, etc) or surprisingly store closed at 10pm only.

For entire 2 months - In Nov 2025 and Dec 2025 - AC wasn’t working so it was’t a pleasant smell inside so used to sit outside which was much better too.

Need better Staff - One of the staff person with braces is arrogant and don’t know how to behave with girls. Other one is better. Everytime I visited found them not very welcoming!!

Other Chaayos such as HSR and Sarjapura are much better and most importantly welcoming to their guests.
