Whether you admit it or not, we all have a hankering for Indian style once in a while. I know I definitely have. When in the Koramangala area, China Bowl definitely satiates those hunger pangs. Let us start at the very beginning – perhaps with some 'Sui Mai in Chicken or Prawn'. You could then move on to the 'Drums of Heaven', which are quite nice here. The 'Crispy Threaded Red Dragon Chicken' is a nice choice too. For the vegetarians, you may want to try the 'Vegetarian Chilli Garlic Sticks' or the 'Chilli Tofu Bean Curd Dry'. The 'Lemon Coriander Prawn Soup' hits the spot as does the 'Hot and Sour Chicken Soup'. The options are plenty for both meat eaters and vegetarians. For the mains, you can pair a range of noodles and rice with the likes of a 'Shredded Pork in Chilli Soya Sauce' or the 'Kung Pao Chicken'. Vegetarians can for the 'Corn and Potato in Hot Garlic Sauce', or the 'Baby Pak Choy' and 'Mushroom Soya Gravy'. The 'Ginger Capsicum Rice' especially stands out for its nice flavours. The menu is thoughtfully divided into vegetarian and meat, which read independently. No having to sift through in this menu. The 'Darsan' is a classic way to end. If not the 'Date Pancake' is a good choice too.
As soon as I entered the restaurant, I started to wonder why it was so vaccant on a Friday night! I had already purchased 1+1 buffet voucher from EazyDinner and was excited to redeem it owing to my love for Chinese. The menu, was super impressive. They probably have cyclic menus, Friday having a chicken manchow soup, two chicken starters - Tai pei chicken and roasted chicken in plum sauce. They were both amazing, perhaps the best I've had in a while. And I started to wonder why they had such a low rating. There was a catch - the buffet for Non veg at Rs 350/- pp was LIMITED. I was kind of heart broken because it's not something you call a buffet in that case, calling it a combo meal would be more appropriate! The service was super slow! We were sitting from 7:55 PM to 8:45 PM over the soup and just ONE serving of starters! I was very disheartened. Also, they do not have a buffet service area, so you can assume the food is freshly made per serving. They legit have the same a la carte approach for their "buffet". Thankfully, they made me another serving of the Taipei chicken as per my request when a little argument took place regarding it being a buffet! The main course was then served, chicken Schezwan noodles and burnt garlic friend rice. We were told that the gravy would take longer, and it did. The sliced chicken in oyester sauce was served in another 10mins and a veg ball soup was served in another 5 mins. Very average tasting main courses. Were followed by some honey and fig wontons with vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was super frozen, could feel the chunks of ice in the mouth. I then, received the bill. It said 600/- while I had a 1+1 offer, ideally it should've been 350/- for 1+1 According to the deal. Had a word with the manager too, he was very rude to me and even mentioned "The kind of quality we give, do you think you'll get it for 175 RS per person?" Well, maybe not SIR but what you served isn't worth RS 600 per person each either! Get your deals together. Now I know why the rating is so low and why people don't rush here!
Been here twice with the wife. One of the better Chinese restaurants in Bangalore. Though on the second floor, the lift is convenient. Decent and clean with a pleasant ambiance. Plenty of light in the daytime makes it nice and cheerful. Airconditioners work and the music is nice and at the right volume, Nice tableware and clean kitchen when I peeped in. Very courteous staff and fairly quick service. There were not many other diners at the time we went for lunch on a weekday. The menu is interesting and thank heavens has all the meats particularly pork like any good Chinese restaurant should. The food was very good. The cook has a light touch so essential for good Chinese food unlike the deeply colored, gooey cornfloured and MSG'd fare one generally finds in most Chinese restaurants. The burned garlic mixed fried rice was cooked to perfection, the China Bowl three flavored noodles which we had with prawn was superb and highly recommended and the roast pork was great. Decent portions as well and not too expensive. All in all, we loved the food and was a great all-around experience. Will definitely be going there again. Compliments to the Chef and the owner. Hope they sustain the quality, service, and cleanliness.

Single chicken manchow soup ( really good ) , two starters chicken lollipop ( 3 pieces ) / chicken manchurian, followed by tangy / spicy chicken Hakka noddles and chicken fried rice with veg Manchurian gravy , lastly ending buffet with vanilla ice cream . Total buffet cost 350 , Paid via Dineout ( 72 pocket money ) and cashback of 50 via Paytm and additional cash-back received on payment via dineout (INR 52) . Final buffet cost : INR 176 . Really awesome ;)
This is a real original chinese restaurant with lot of options among chinese rice items, soup, sea food preparations, checken fryies and lot of other delicious varieties. I love to have my weekend visit here with my family
We found a human hair in our pan fried noodles and they were kind enough to exclude it (the noodles, not the hair) from the bill. We had to wait more than an hour to be served (they really liked us so wanted us to stick around). The chilli garlic noodles was sweet (surprised? Join the club) and the chilli chicken gravy had a striking similarity with the soup. But I would give it 3 stars coz they gave me a 10% discount.
