  • Order buttermilk – or majjige as we call it – to go with your food, especially if you are getting the chilli chicken
  • They serve food on banana leaf, which I find one of the best ways to eat desi food and is hygienic too
  • If you prefer mutton to chicken, try the mutton pepper fry from the appetiser menu. It is quite tasty

I belong to the minority group in the city who does not like the biryani at Meghana Foods, and therefore my perspective means nothing. Their chicken biryani is unbelievably popular, be it at the restaurant or for takeaway. It is also generously portioned and hygienically served. However, what I do like at this restaurant is something as plebeian as the egg bhurji and kulcha; it is basic, and good to eat. Another non-vegetarian starter to try out over here is the Meghana 555 and the chilli chicken; the latter will bring tears to your eyes – not from regret, I assure you.
