Much like you have the shop-in-shop idea, here you have the restaurant-in-restaurant thing going on. A personal favourite part of The Open Box called the Garage and the outdoor seating area is now enclosed to create Misu, a Pan-Asian restaurant. Sampling the fare at the launch of the restaurant, it does hold promise, though considering its initial days, things need a bit of tweaking. We had some 'Prawn Tempura' to start the evening, which with a thinner batter can be a good dish. The 'Drunken Beef' is a spicy and nice dish to pair with cocktails and 'Soho St. Misu' has a range of sushi that needs a little more finesse with the rolling. And do not forget to end your meal on their awesome 'Lemon Grass Icecream with Banana Pancake'. The drinks are really sizable portions so pace yourself or you would not go beyond a drink. Do try and catch a seat on the bar stool table set up at night. The little lamps over each table are wonderfully ambient. Do not miss the lovely mural of a cat with two different coloured eyes that dominates one of the walls and is perfect for a selfie.
Misu is located in the downtown area of Bangalore on St. Mark's road close to the UB City opposite the Bishop Cottons Girl School. It's a pity that inspite of being a Bangalorean I couldn't make it to this restaurant earlier but again it's better late than never. I was looking for a new Asian restaurant to tickle my taste buds and found Misu which was highly recommended to me. The menu offers a wide variety of options to chose from. It offers cuisines from Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam and China. Now coming to the food, I found every time which I ordered to be extremely delicious. My personal favourite was the Soft Shell Crab in Chilli Garlic. Not that the others were bad, I found this one the best. Each food item has a distinct flavour and you cannot find two things similar. All credit goes to the chef and his team for maintaining this standard. The service is good too. Every one were courteous and polite. We also loved their service. But do keep one thing in mind, always make a reservation before you head there. We thankfully made a reservation 4 days in advance and thankfully we were the first one to arrive there but in a matter of 30 minutes the restaurant was full and we did see a long queue of diners. Overall a good place for lunch or dinner. I would go there once again and recommend this restaurant to everyone who loves Asian cuisine.
Everything we ordered was excellent, it was a mix of Thai , Japanese Chinese . We were served exceptionally well by MR Pradeep.
I recently visited Misu with my girlfriend. She loves Asian Food and was recommending this place from a long time. Final when i went there last Saturday, i ordered Thai basil noodles (wanted to keep it simple as I was skeptical about it). But I was totally blown away when i took that first bite, it was the perfect mixture of all ingredients. There is no other word, just perfect. I am planning to visit again very soon as this has become one of my fav places to eat. P.S. This place is a little expensive but its totally worth it if you are looking for a fine dining.
As always the food was on the Spot!!!! Special mwntion for the Tom Khap soup whose consistancy was perfect and had the right blend of spices My only issue with this place is that service is slow and can easily be improved
Was my 2nd visit to Misu. 1st experience was avoidable as we could not get a table even after making a reservation. Though this time around all went well. We got a table on time and the food was really good. We ordered a bunch of things and were happy with the food. The only point for improvement would be the beer glassware. The glassware was sub-par and the pour as well. The servers need some basic training on how to pour a beer and the restaurant needs to upgrade its beer glassware. Would be visiting soon again.
