This chain of restaurants is where you head to on a working day, for an early dinner, on the days you don’t feel like cooking or when the family wants a treat and you want to make everyone happy. Begin with the 'Bhuna Paneer' if you love paneer (there are so many dishes to try with this core ingredient). If you would rather go down the fried route, then the 'Bhutte Ke Pakore' is a good bet. The 'Sanewal Mushroom Tikka' – stuffed button mushrooms, as well as the 'Tandoori Kukkad', are topnotch picks too. But if you would rather settle down with some classic parathas – then the 'Aloo Parathas' are highly recommended here. With some 'Mirchi and Dahi' on the side, you will be set. Head into the main course with some 'Cheese Garlic Naan' and 'Laccha Paratha' that is quite popular. The team that up with some 'Palak Paneer' (yes, paneer again). The 'Chicken Patiala', the 'Special Rara Kukkad' or even the 'Mutton Rogan Josh' are good picks as well. The 'Makki Di Roti' and 'Sarson ka Saag' are an eternal favourite here. You may want to round it off with some 'Biryani', but fair warning, the portions are daunting. Pair your meal with some 'Masala Chaas' or 'Lassi Malai Marke'. In the dessert section, the 'Gulab Jamun' and 'Rabri Jalebi' are your best bets. Oye Amritsar also caters to the diner in a hurry and so you have substantial thalis in vegetarian and meat options giving you are a really hearty meal that will require you to put that meeting on hold post lunch. Or you can go in for the Jaldi platters, where the food plated up for one, again in vegetarian and meat options.
Good Food ...Polite servers...Nice Ambience... Me and my friends tried out their veg items and were satisfied with it ..at the end we did conclude with Lassi... If you are nearby for North Indian food do check out the place...
What we liked about the restaurant was the portion sizes for the money it cost us. The ambience was okayish, but the food was good to taste. We liked the Pindi chole and the kulchas more than the vegetable pulao.
We had gone there on Bengali New Years - we were originally planning to go to Oh! Calcutta but seeing the queue, we decided to go here instead. If you have had food at their Koramangala branch, you would be sorely disappointed here. The food was quite ordinary. We had bheja fry, steamed rice and the cantonment mutton curry. My wife had something vegetarian which I tend to forget. Bheja fry had too much spices - to the extent the flavour of the bheja had disappeared. The steamed rice appeared to be reheated which had become hard. The mutton, however, was succulent with the gravy smelling of bone marrow which indicates that it was slow cooked and done correctly. The service was good although there were a couple of let downs (which I will come to later). We were welcomed jovially and gave a choice of seating. We were taken through the menu and suggested items based on our choices (some of which turned out bad but that's a different story). Our drinks were fast and customised according to our orders. There was interaction - as much as necessary and not more. Now coming to some of the let downs from a service perspective. I called the manager (or at least someone who we thought was the manager) after I put in the order to let him know I am a Zomato Gold member. He immediately came back saying that I should have told him this before placing the order. This was when I had asked the person who took our order to call him - meaning this was immediately after. Anyway, I told him that I understood and I would leave it to him whether he wanted to give us the discount. He agreed to it but made a big deal out of it - saying of course we will give it for our customer. All good and covered by the end. Then towards the end, I was not able to finish the mutton dish (the portion size was quite large - a positive here) - so I asked him to get it packed. He mentioned that he cannot give me the Zomato Gold discount if I wanted to get the item packed. I told him that I am aware that Zomato Gold is not valid on take away but since this was essentially a doggie bag, Zomato leaves it to the restaurant to figure out how to handle it (this is something I have clarified with Zomato - I have taken parcels of dishes I couldn't finish in other restaurants before and still have got my discount). Anyway long story short, I gave up on my discount since the mutton was quite delicious and I didn't want to throw it away. The management was in their rights in both of this incidents - but I felt it was in poor taste and hence the rating. Of course, this is entirely my opinion - I leave it up to others to form their own
Oye amrtsar Wednesday buffet is good and has reasonable price as for as the area of restaurant is concerned. Food taste is good here.
Great food. The ambience is also nice. Must visit once. I think you can try anything on the menu. Service is also good and the staff is courteous
