If there is one thing you will be happy about it is that Oye Amritsar in Indiranagar offers you valet parking. It also offers you a beer, which goes really well with 'Sanewal Mushroom Tikka' – stuffed button mushrooms are legendary up North as well as the 'Tandoori Kukkad', well marinated and the right notes of spice. Vegetarians can opt for the 'Bhuna Paneer' and the 'Bhutte Ki Pakore' that make for perfect accompaniments with your beer. Of course, if you would rather keep away from the alcohol, the mocktail menu does a decent job. Choose from the likes of a 'Green Park' or a 'Fruit Punch'. The options of 'Masala Chaas' (which can be addictive) and the 'Lassi Malai Marke', are also there for you to pick. For your main course options, you can go with the 'Makke Ki Roti' and some 'Chicken Patiala'. The 'Special Rara Kukkad' or even the 'Mutton Rogan Josh' are good picks as well. Desserts are the usual suspects with 'Gulab Jamun' and 'Rabri Jalebi' being the better picks. You can also opt for simpler icecreams if you want to go easy on the sweet factor. Oye! Amritsar also caters to the diner in a hurry and so you have substantial thalis in vegetarian and meat options giving you are a really hearty meal that will require you to put that meeting on hold post lunch. Or you can go in for the Jaldi platters, where the food plated up for one, again.
Oye Amritsar at Indiranagar is well located. But access is bad. Narrow and steep steps to climb to 2nd floor. Bad lift. It looks run down and service levels very average. Choice of drinks very bad. But very expensive of a daba like place. Food quality is good. But the dining experience is very average. Very expensive and disappointing for an ordinary dhaba.
Food was not good. I tried Makki ki roti and sarson ka saag. Both was pathetic, not at all amritsari taste. Manager ( Rehman ) was not at all open for suggestion and behaving rude. Not Recommended. Please save your money.
Our amritsar is chai. I heard A lot about it. I visited with my family. The food was just okay. Test of food was just okay and service quality was rather low grade. THE FOOSEBALL kept there was too poor quality. Ambiance was okay.
The food is pretty good. Had Sarson the Saag and Makki di roti. Both turned out pretty good. Their achaar on the side was yum. Chicken Sheekh kabab was a bit bland. Overall good place if you like Punjabi cuisine.
Oye Amritsar is an interesting concept restaurant in Bangalore with 5 restaurants in different parts of the city. Located at IndiraNagar. Is an openair rooftop restaurant built on the theme of a punjabi daba with very basic furniture. Access to the restaurant is bad.one has to climb a very narrow and steep metal staircase for 3 floors. The restaurant is well lit and has very interesting punjabi graffiti that is typical of punjab loud and crude yet warm and endearing. This restaurant is for students, young working couple on a budget. Excellent food. Very average service. The support staff are not trained and quite clueless with restaurants etiquette. The table seating is not convenient or comfortable to eat. Over all its a good restaurant for good quality punjabi food, ambience and afffordability. Just overlook the irritants.
