Pretty as a picture, this place looks like its taken from a 70’s era sci-fi movie. The furniture here is from the vintage hippie era with all the class that can be incorporated in one place. Soft mustard and cream coloured seat linen adorn the chairs. The super glaze on the tables matches the luxurious lighting suspending from the ceiling. The combination of dishes that really work well is the spinach and mushroom salad with tempura fried prawns from the appetizer and the chargrilled lamb from the grills section. The freshness of the baby spinach in the balsamic reduction softens the taste of the fried and succulent prawns. The lamb grill sits pretty on a white plate with wilted greens and pineapple spearmint compote.
My husband and I experienced the casual, yet pampered atmosphere of the Palette for Easter Sunday Brunch. The attention to detail was evident, from the table settings to the appetizing display of the many and varied dishes from which to choose. Our server, Ganesh, seated us right away and immediately brought our requested drinks. Despite the restaurant filling up and keeping him busy, Ganesh seemed to always materialize right when we needed him. We were also greeted by Pralhad, the associate food and beverage director. Pralhad actually took the time to take my husband’s plate back to the live bar when it was brought without the veggies he wanted. I really appreciate managers who are ‘hands on’ and work just as much as their servers. I want to also mention that there was a lovely young woman providing live singing. We enjoyed listening to her. We also appreciated, when at one point the music was a bit loud for casual conversation at the table, we noticed a manager discreetly turn it down a notch or two. After being seated and being given a verbal the layout of where to find all the different foods, we took a reconnaissance around the serving areas to decide what to eat and where to start. And that doesn’t even start to approach the incredible wonderland of chocolate and sugar that was the dessert area. Where to start was a difficult choice. With a chaat station, salad bar, soups, breads, numerous veg and non-veg Indian dishes, fresh seafood, roast turkey and suckling pig, sushi, and several amazing cuts of meat ready to grill to order, we knew we’d never be able to sample it all. We both had chaat and offerings from the salad bar. Both were just what we needed to start our meal - Fresh, flavorful, and crispy. I went for some fresh seafood and sushi. My husband got some of the suckling pig, roast turkey, grilled lamb chop and beef tenderloin, along with an assortment of grilled veggies. I opted to wait and see what size serving of these he would get, as I was fairly certain they would be larger than I could eat, and probably could just snitch a few bites from his plate. I was more than correct on that premise. What an amazing plate they brought him, loaded with all that yummy meat, surrounded by summer squash, potatoes, carrots, and mushrooms. I had a bite or two of each and they were each delicious in their own right. Although, I will say, the texture of the suckling pig was not what I was expecting. It appears it was liberally injected with flavoring. While the flavors were not disagreeable, the texture was left rather “grainy”. Having had roast sucking pig before in other places, which had been simply slow roasted with, as far as I could tell, flavored only by what would have filled the body cavity, I have to say I prefer the less aggressive seasoning method. That’s not to say this pig did not taste good, it did. I just wasn’t a fan of the texture, and prefer more natural flavoring. The turkey was flavorful, and moist. The lamb chop was perfectly cooked. The beef tenderloin was so tender it cut with a fork. My sushi and grilled seafood was just exactly what I had been craving. Then it was dessert time. All I can say is WOW! The pastry/dessert chef really outdid him/herself on the Easter theme, with so many desserts, from simple to intricate, light to decadent, and everything in between that I felt like a kid in a candy shop. Between us we tried several and were not disappointed in a single bite. My husband finished the meal with an Earl Grey tea and I had a double espresso. Both were excellent and a perfect ending to a wonderful meal.
A memorable experience at Pallete with personal touch of Robin from Kerala made us feel blessed...Tjanks
Generally we avoid this place as its always used for conferences at large scale and I have personally attended some 5,6 conferences in the last 2 years. However while returning from North BLR yesterday, we happened to stop by for an evening snack /supper. Prices are OK. Service is a bit slow but definitely pleasant. Coming to food , we did not like some item (too spicy) and Chef Jaiprakash immediately attended to us, asked how we would like it and replaced the same . Filter coffee (though made from Lavazza machines) is pretty good but the cups will be dripping with coffee on the sides. due to the froth of the machine . We tried 2 times but got similar cups the 3rd time. So enjoyed the coffee alone ignoring cutlery. Overall a very good experience but there are areas for improvement as well.
I had been here with family for dinner at Palette and upped the buffet. The buffet spread is very impressive and taste also excells in its equity. It was a global representation of culinary arts with salads, grills, roasts, curries, biryani, European, Asian and even kebabs, the desserts we're simply awesome. Most importantly was the courtsey and care of people, from the restaurant staff to the chefs is unparalleled.I will definitely go back and recommend this
