Sea Rock, above the iconic Shivananda Stores, is not much to look at from the outside. In fact, it is quite natural to hesitate while entering, considering the surroundings and the entryway. Get over it and walk up the flight of stairs to the restaurant and you will find that it is quite a family friendly place. Sea Rock has always been about the Mangalorean seafood so concentrate on that part of the menu. If beers are in order, as they should be, begin with the seafood starters and choose from the Masala, Tawa, Rawa or Naked Fry. The Pomfret Rawa Fry, the Prawns Naked Fry and the Kane Rava Fry is the way to go if you need help deciding. The Ghee Roast is an evergreen dish in the Mangalorean repertoire, and so one of that in chicken or prawn should be considered. They do have a squid option too, but I personally feel it does not do the Ghee Roast Masala justice. You can pick Sannas, Mude or even Neer Dosas to mop up the last of the gravy. And do consider the Marvai (cockles) Sukka as well. Make a meal out of the Fish Pulimunchi and boiled rice or go the Kori Rotti way. The menu also boasts of an Indian Chinese and North Indian menu and so if by chance Mangalorean food does not do it for you, there is always more to choose from.
