This star property just outside its arrival gates of the Bangalore Airport is such a lovely addition to what is already my favourite airport in the country. Tamarind, their Indian restaurant was the first to open its doors and offers dinner alone. The menu of the restaurant has been designed to bring the best of North Indian food to a diner’s table, with no fuss, no hoopla, just a focus on great flavours. Start with the 'Ghosht Pudina Yakhni', a lamb soup that is light with a touch of tanginess. It has little balls of hand pounded lamb meat in them, which you should allow steeping in the soup before eating them. The 'Chane Ka Ark', an extract of black chickpeas is also great. The 'Murgh Reshmi Seekh' gives you subtle flavours of potent ingredients like ginger and green chillis along with the meat. The 'Kakori Kebab' must be eaten straight off the melt and its ability to simply melt away in your mouth is magical. The 'Sheermal Tart Mein Galouti' is a nice little twist with the roti being shaped into a tart cup. Among the main courses, 'The Qasar E Pukhtan', a paneer roulade with squash nut and gravy is a good choice. The 'Kukkad Methi Saag' as well as the 'Laal Moth ki Daal' combine really well with some of the rotis such as the 'Kuti Mirch Jaituni Naan' and the 'Saufiyani Khameeri Roti'. Ask for the 'Malai Lassi' and make a heavy dining spoon stand straight in it. You will love the whole deal. The baked 'Gajrilla' is the dessert to go with.

The lure of a good curry accompanied by buttery flatbreads is too good to be true. Dunking a piece of bread in piping hot curry is a tradition that calms one down, especially if they are North Indians. Not every restaurant is able to cook good North Indian food, it takes skill to get the balance of spices just right, which is why to help you out we have bought to you a fool-proof name that won't disappoint you at all. ‘Tamarind' may be a fairly new entrant on Bengaluru's fine dining scene but with it's timeless curry fare the restaurant has become a household name. It's hard to break into curry market in any city but Tamarind manages to do that with an ease. Judge it for yourself by driving to Taj Bangalore, Near K.I.A., Devanahalli.
Tamarind creates a menu that displays the best of North Indian cuisine has to offer. Along with classic Indian dishes, one gets to sample unique lost recipes to stir the gourmet in you. Menu is pretty extensive and offers you a smorgasbord of delectable desi choices. Combine your meal with an Indian-inspired signature cocktail or a desi summer cooler. Try Taj Blend Tea, Taj Hotel's own signature blend. Start with, kakori kebab, Jhelum ka jheenga, gucchi malai bahar, gosht pudina yakhni, chane ka ark, Ansari raan, dahi kachri kebab, tawe wali macchli and thande masale ka murgh tikka. Polish off curries like, nalli e khaas, paneer nizampuri, kukkad methi saag, ankurit hara moong kofta curry, lobster tawa masala, bhindi Jodhpuri, nukkad da kukkad, paneer makhmali and abmiyaani macchli tari.
Chef pays deep attention to Tamarind's flatbreads too. Mop up the curries with the help of an assortment of buttery Indian flatbreads. Kuti mirch jaituni naan or goat cheese & masala onion kulcha are our favourites. For your incorrigible sweet tooth the chef whips up, baked gajrela, kulfi falooda, mille feuille badam halwa and an array of homemade ice creams. Being part of a five star property, Tamarind is a pricey place. To have an affordable time, book a table through EazyDiner and get great discounts. Interiors of the restaurant are elegant and timeless. While no opulence is seen at this fancy Taj restaurant, the décor is kept very much modern and plush. For privacy, ask to be seated in the restaurant's private alcove.
