Located in Hotel Jamayca; Tang of Jamaica is a casual dining restaurant. A well-lit space with comfortable seating arrangements with the paintings hung on the wall, gives it an inviting vibe. The servers are polite and will make sure that diners have a one-of-a-kind experience. You can blow out on 'Fish Tea Soup', 'Jerk Baby Corn', 'BBQ Lamb Chop', 'Jumbo Prawns', 'Fricasseed Chicken' and 'Jamaican Fried Dumpling'.
I have been once to this place. The ambiance is a bit downer, which is my personal view though. The quantity was meagre and the taste was ordinary. From the beginning to the end I somehow did not enjoy the experience. Maybe need to give another shot to figure out. But with my initial experience not somewhere I would recommend given the versatile options of the neighbourhood
I was searching for a nice restaurant near by our office for my birthday treat which was not frequented by my teammates. This one turned up as a random choice. Cost worked out for a group of 20. Entire group was happy for the difference of taste for both veg and non-veg. I agree that we did not have a great spread in terms of variety. But the seer fish soup, stuffed nan and banana cake were my favorite picks. It was a real surprise for all of us.
"Tang Of Jamaica" This was the place where i love to hangout with my family again. They have different variety of Jamaican food with exact quantity and quality. Food was really good. we were around 4 people ( Family), we ordered Jamaican jerk chicken, Indian hariyali chicken,Jamaican rice and peas , Jamaican jerk fish and some rotis. Specially Jamaican foods are excellent, we all really enjoyed the dinner. The restaurant was well maintained with variety theme and reggae music. Especially the road view from the restaurant We Loved It. They got a gift shop too.
I was shocked when I tasted the Jamaican food at the restaurant. Making Jerk chicken (a traditional Jamaican dish) in India is not very easy because a great variety of spices which are probably rare in India are needed. Many of the other dishes were made well. I also loved the environment at the restaurant. The color scheme and the music (reggae) made the environment very lively. The waiters are very attentive and polite. On the whole, my whole experience at this restaurant is a very memorable one because of its authenticity.
The place is small and got a nice view specially in the evening the outer ring road lights looks good. The place has a warm ambiance .The place has only one waiter and the poor chap has to run down to the kitchen for everything...which makes the wait longer. We ordered for two persons the Jamaican Jerk and the veg soup. The soup was nice-hit and tasty. But the Jerk chicken was a dampener. The chicken was served cold ...with very little seasoning and sauce. The restaurant charges a 10% service charge-which makes you feel cheated as the service is very poor
