Located on a busy stretch bustling with restaurants, What’s in a Name is usually packed on weekends and in the evenings. One wall is dedicated to art featuring John Lennon, and music is the theme all across – the restrooms have blown up newspaper clippings of famous rock and rollers, decorating the walls. The menu, with its amusing Bollywood and local inspired names for dishes, has mains, pizzas, sandwiches, and a range of appetizers including beef and pork, and must-try items include the 'Mallu Beef Fry', 'Malay Dry Beef Rendang', and Chef’s signature 'Bailey’s Irish cream Prawns'. The 'Ajwain and Lemongrass flavoured Mahi Tikka with Pudina Lacchha' or the 'Bengali Macher Chop Crumb' fried served with Kasundi are great for fish lovers. The menu favours regional cuisines, so a Mangalore 'Ghee Roast with Calamari Rings' or a 'Pork Pandi Dry Fry with Kachumpuli' fit the bill well as does the 'Kosha Mangsho Dry Fry'. Spice fiends might like to try the 'Chilliest Cheese Toast with naga peppers'. Breakfast platters are available, with choices like all day and night breakfast, Bartender’s breakfast (which comes with a Kingfisher beer and a Gold Flakes cigarette!), Gunner’s breakfast and Bhaiya’s breakfast (aloo parathas and fixings, including lassi and cutting chai or filter kappi). They also boast a full bar menu, and if in a group and in the mood to drink, order the 'Bakchodi Baalti', which is served in a bucket, with any cocktail off the menu that you choose, and is enough for 3-4 to share. The drinks here are quite strong, and decently priced, and come with droll desi-style names like 'P.K Toit' and 'D.K Bose'. There is also a range of mocktails, smoothies, and juices to choose from.
A descent place for drinks and finger food. The best thing is that they have Bira.. We have tried three different cocktails. Those were pretty good. Among the foods, Pork chops were really less in quantity. And never ever try their Mutton sukha. It was pathetic. Total waste of money.. Service was good. So was the ambience.. Food- 3/5 Drinks- 4/5 Service-4/5 Ambience- 5/5 Location-4/5
Ordered breakfast combo which includes beer and cig :) never had this kind of combo .. service was good and ambience was nice .. overall a good place to visit for English breakfast .
Place is really good and they have happy hours til 9 PM. I have visited few times here on Saturday. It's a bollywood night every Saturday. I like the ambience.
Food -4/5 Drinks -3/5 Ambience - 4.5/5 Parking -3/5 Service - 4/5 Hygiene - 4/5 Fire safety- Displayed fire safety equipment. Exit is not blocked. And located on ground floor. Welcome new addition to the Koramangala pub joint. They have foods of different cuisines of India such as Keralean, Tamil, North Indian, Bengali and of course pan Asian cuisines also. The dishes that I like the most was chicken malai tikka served with cheese and Barista on top. I also loved Mini Idli being served with Podi Masala. David crunchy outside soft inside and with generous dose of Spicy Podi Masala. Their Pizza was not quite good but ok. The drinks initially that we ordered were not quite good. The barman took special care and service one Vodka based drink with strawberry and one tequila based drink with Kiwi. The Burmese khow suey was very delicious and we having it for the first time literally fell in love with it. The deserts here also very nice specially mango cheesecake and Tiramisu cake. Although I felt that drinks were a notch higher prized. But fell in love with amazing Ambience which is themed with yesteryear rock albums.
What I ordered: Amritsari Fish Fingers- 9/10- Some really amazing, crispy, and flavourful fried fish fingers which absolutely made my day. I liked them so much that I ordered two servings just for myself. A little overpriced as compared to the quantity served, but the taste is A1. The presentation was also very nice. Ambience: A really cozy, retro setup with quirky interiors and outdoor as well as indoor seating places. Suitable for social gatherings and random conversations with friends. Staff: Very well behaved and friendly. Service: Timely :) Overall Experience: Would love to go there again, solely for the heavenly fish fingers ❤️
