It might be located off the usual track in Industrial Area but that has not deterred Lumos from becoming a fun place to hang out. Housed in Godrej Eternia building, Lumos has an outdoor space that is used really well for dining and events. Step inside and you are instantly impressed by the modern interior design and furniture much inspired by Chandigarh’s architecture. There is a long island bar on one end and it follows you all along the length of the restaurant. The use of contemporary lighting styles gives this place a warm and inviting look. French windows bring in the light and there’s also a split level floor for more intimate seating. The menu matches the mood the restaurant and you will find a good selection of drinks from the bar. The food hopscotches across a global map bringing in a mix of cuisines. Interestingly, the Indian dishes get a fun makeover too, like ‘Cous Cous Upma’. In the starters, you will find plenty of options like ‘Classic Fish and Chips’, ‘Keema Pav’, ‘Mini Corn Dogs’ to ‘Baked Potato Skin Chicken Tak-a-Tak’ and ‘Gunpowder spiced Onion Rings’ to list a few. The main course walks a familiar path and we are told a new menu is being worked upon. We truly relished the ‘Burnt Garlic Soup’ that instantly warmed us up on a cold winter evening. The ‘Chicken 65’ was equally well done and even though a tad spicy, it was really full with flavour. If you are looking for a break from the usual restaurants and lounges dotting Sector 7 and Sector 26, plan a visit here.
It was my wife's birthday and she really wanted to try Italian. We checked the menu at DineOut app and was prepared what we would be ordering but when we reached there they had altogether a difference menu and that too printed in A4 size sheet stapled together. The first experience was not that good but it was the live music that kept us stick to our seats. Food is Average.
I have been keen to try Lumos as the management pictures really show it as a place that is very trendy and international. So on a short trip to the city beautiful, we decided to drop in for weekend brunch. We arrived at 1230 (place opens at 11 am) and were shocked to find nobody at the entrance and the staff looking like they have just woken up. We actually asked the security guard on duty if the place was open at all as it looked so dead. Anyways, once we opened the door, a swarm of flies welcomed us and i am not kidding. Not 1-2 flies but you could see flies EVERYWHERE!!! Grudgingly we sat at a table and saw around 5-6 flies on the surface. Asked the serve staff if they dont have anything to take care of the staff, they mentioned in positive. After precisely 6 seconds of us sitting down, we just could not and did not want to deal with the constant swatting of flies on the table and in the air and ran out. Will never visit a food place where the hygiene is so bad that they dont even attempt to hide the flies!!!
GENERAL This is a new restaurant that we came to know about through Zomato. We went here for the valentine's dinner. They had a special menu for Valentine's at around 3500 per couple and it included wine. (They are yet to get the full bar licence though). FOOD We ordered three things: Spicy nacho platter (veg), Margherita pizza and fresh lime soda. All was covered in 1100 rupees. We liked the nacho platter but the pizza was not upto our taste. They bake their own crust and the kitchen is open to see what is cooking but we didn't like the taste of the pizza as it had too much cheese. AMBIANCE The restaurant has open as well as indoor seating. There are couches as well as tables and chairs. One thing that we liked the most was that each table had electrical sockets fitted in them for charging phones etc. on each side. Also, there is a provision of private party upstairs. There is stage also for DJ or live music perhaps. The day we went they were to hold valentine's night live music at 10 pm, but we came back before that so cannot comment on it's quality. There is a screen also where all the time cartoons are being played (a nice change from the regular songs/sports channels that are being displayed everywhere). LOCATION AND PARKING The restaurant could be easily located following the GPS. Also, ample parking space is available (atleast it was available at night, don't know about the day condition as many offices are there in that building). OVERALL We would like to visit again to try rest of the menu, though it is not our top priority.
