Amdavadi Gujarati Restaurant

Grand thali was great. Good variety. Supposed to be unlimited but the waiter reluctantly appears on calling and slowly brings refills. Better to make it limited and less expensive. We anyway could only have one refill of the cabbage, aloo, and one additional jalebi as the items are sufficient and filling. Noisy landline kept ringing. Restaurant decor is tasteful. Service can be more welcoming and attentive

A nice comfortable restaurant serving Gujarati food in Chennai. There are not many options available, but the food tasted good. The place is located a bit internally, beside pazhamudhircholai. The service was good and the ambience was nice.
The thali is reasonably priced and has almost the entire menu in it. More or less, you will end up paying the same as thali. So, go for it.
When we visited, we were the only ones in the restaurant!
There is place to park about 3 cars inside.

Been there for lunch today. Ordered thali. It was a good variety. For my taste the cuisine was mild(not spicy- kichdi, tomato curry), sweet(dhokla and kadhi especially) and roti felt dry.
May be that is how it is authentically.. I don't know.. what I liked is the fact they don't rush you. Some places they keep moving around a lot and our conversations have to pause. As the thali was unlimited(400rs) they served multiple servings (mint chutney, dhokla and khandvi).
It would have been great if they allow us to choose the started and main course instead of going by default.. we had planned to try a la Carte items which we missed in your thali.. but our tummy were already full.. will go again and try a la carte ... worth a visit if u want to try Gujrat food in chennai..

We went there for lunch on the 17th of Dec .We ordered 5 Thalis The food was stale .To mention the sabudana vada mix was refrigerated and sour, the aloo sabji was spoilt, they agreed to change after we raised the issue.the sev tamatar sabji had Readymade nylon sev .The poori aata was also sour .
The roti and the we’re good, jalebi was very good .Dhoklas were good.
I have been visiting that place since its inception, the food used to be outstanding ,homely and so Gujrathi.
It’s not the same anymore ??

Really tasty and mild food. Though the price appears high on the menu, the quantity is quite filling and justifies the price. The simple but classy theme is reflected in the food as well as the ambience. Truly beautiful photos of different Gujarati community people adorn the wall. The look has been unaltered from the beginning and it still looks amazing. The menu too has almost been the same. It's an amazing place.

Went for a weekday lunch and ordered unlimited Gujarati Thali. The food items were tasty and the quantity was adequate. We took nearly an hour to slowly taste the delicacies. Good food, good service and a good environment.

Authentic gujju food!!

Perfect for people with less spice tolerance! Not much spicy food is on the menu.

The food is soo light and healthy, and is very economically priced.

The service is good and the food is served hot and fresh! Would definitely recommend!

Food has authentic gujarati taste. Price is okay, good part is no waiting time, may be they can improve Thali serving by bringing the items one by one instead of serving at once.
