My first impression of Boats was quite scornful. It was a packed Saturday night, and I could not see beyond the next elbow. I wondered why a seaside bar would resort to B(ased) O(n) A T(rue) S(tory) and, scoffed at the limited sea-view through a 6x4 tinted glass. Then a few weeks later, during a calmer weeknight dinner, I had a change of heart. From Deadpool comics on the toilet cubicle to a wall studded with spread-out books, Boats is not trying to take itself too seriously. It helped wash down my moist and peppery 'Bade ka Boti'. I was even more impressed by a layered plate of 'Crisp Pork Belly'. It came with pillowy 'Pomme Dauphines', 'Smooth Spinach Puree', a perfectly 'Grilled Tomato' and a few needless 'Corn Kernels'. It had a lot going on, but much like Boats, it worked! If you are after a sea-view, then visit during daylight hours. There is not much to see through the tinted window at night.
I was told that it is difficult to get a booking at this place. My friends pulled some strings and there we were for dinner. We went in for beverages and starters. Let me tell you, there is not much out there for vegetarians seeking traditional stuff. We ordered a motley of stuff, and just spent a good 2-3 hours chatting. The service is good, we were promptly seated, it was a working day, so no rush. The ordered food takes very little time. most stuff arrived within 10-15 minutes of ordering. Watch where you sit since the top floor seating also includes smoking area. you may want to choose wisely. Interiors are nicely done, the table we were seated on, nice wood, the seats gave the feel of catamaran finish. You can definitely try it out for the great locale..beach front.
Pathetic services. Pathetic manager. Very sad to see a place like this having good reviews on TA. Have some courtesy for people standing and waiting outside and be a little hospitable. People make a place not the food and drinks. Please teach your staffs professionalism. Damn! How rude you people are towards your guests.
Visited last weekend .small place....drinks and food both great. Great music.. we visited many times this place.after 5 months we visited again last weekend ...price they increased... For drinks and food.
A nice resto bar to hang out with friends on a lazy afternoon.. This place has got a beautiful view of the beach while enjoying their sumptuous food.. Nice music too.. Will definitely visit them again
The boats is hop away at Bessy along side the v main road end and beach front. The rating pulled me to try them! Used my EazyDiner for booking. The beer was served chill. The CSK match was also a X factor to go there. The big screen is to experienced. Ambience is good. In case you hit with your gang, book in advance and go. The hype of booking made me crazy and it was only few heads at 19:30 and crowd swells as time goes. The starter was not GrT I would rate it average, only sound crispy and bit saggy May be in next lemme try my luck :-)
