My first impression of Boats was quite scornful. It was a packed Saturday night, and I could not see beyond the next elbow. I wondered why a seaside bar would resort to B(ased) O(n) A T(rue) S(tory) and, scoffed at the limited sea-view through a 6x4 tinted glass. Then a few weeks later, during a calmer weeknight dinner, I had a change of heart. From Deadpool comics on the toilet cubicle to a wall studded with spread-out books, Boats is not trying to take itself too seriously. It helped wash down my moist and peppery 'Bade ka Boti'. I was even more impressed by a layered plate of 'Crisp Pork Belly'. It came with pillowy 'Pomme Dauphines', 'Smooth Spinach Puree', a perfectly 'Grilled Tomato' and a few needless 'Corn Kernels'. It had a lot going on, but much like Boats, it worked! If you are after a sea-view, then visit during daylight hours. There is not much to see through the tinted window at night.
