'I waited, waited and waited for my baby back ribs' could go the Chennai version of that jingle which once made it to the Billboard 100 list and even featured in an Austin Powers movie. You might have never heard it in India, but the tribute will seem fair after a portion of Chilli’s signature dish. Grilled fatty meat, slathered in barbecue sauce and jacketed on pork ribs is one messy and carnal pleasure we need more of. As for the wait, I am guessing it might have something to do with the state policy on serving liquor.
Tasty food. Good ambience but the quality of service can improve a little bit more . Definitely a place to go
29-03-2018, Thursday Located on the 3rd of the Express Avenue Mall, Royapettah, Chennai. This restaurant serves American, Mexican and Tex-Mex food. The ambience was enchanting, so was it's theme and decor. Apart from that, the food served was mouth-watering. It's presentation, quality and quantity were also good. People must give a try to the Ultimate Bacon Burger which comes with an option of chicken, lamb or a beef patty, Crumb Fried Fish and Chips, Cajun Pasta, Tropical Sunrise Margarita and El Niño. The food was economical, the seating capacity was fine, location was good and the place was hygienic. My overall experience was amazing. Overall experience:- (5/5) Food:- (5/5) Ambience:- (5/5) Economical:- (5/5) Planning to visit again:- (5/5)
We dived into a fairly high end air conditioned mall for a couple hours respite from busy Chennai while waiting for our evening train. Chilis is located on the top floor, and seems very well staffed, and quite comfortable. The food selection, in the traditional Chili’s theme seemed pretty familiar, so I zeroed in on the blackened buffalo steak. (No “beef” in India!). The only option was well done, which I concurred to be a wise choice, so I wasn’t too surprised that it was a bit dry. The presentation, however was fine, and it was preceded by a decent salad. Not cheap, about INR 900 including an excellent lemonade, tax and tip.
Need to improve loads if they actually want to consider them selves as a true Chilli's experience .Most of the time no avocado ,many a times no meat supply. So the food loses its zing without these kind of important ingredients.
I am an american living in india now 5 years..i try to go to mexican places when i can. I was in chennai and decided to try chilis. Even for indian tex mex it was not good and just seemed hurriedly tossed together. It wasn't done well. it looked like a mess and taste was nothing special.
