One of the most beautiful outdoor bars in Chennai, the décor is exceptionally well designed with lush green flora all around and furniture that has been picked by a sculptor. Everything is white in colour with bright pink leaf illustrations in the background. Wine lovers can try the 'girl’s favourite', which is with red wine, orange fruit, apple slices and cinnamon sticks. The other cocktail that is well mixed here is the ‘colour full’ cocktail with Bacardi, blue curacao, lime juice, sugar and 7-up.
It has a wide variety of whisky, brandy, rum, cognac, beer and tequila. Attractive offers are also there, and also the happy hour. A must visit for a liqour loving guy/girl.
The sekection of dtinks and cocktails are superb. The staff very friendly and the visit was superb. The sides came a tad slow
chennai is maddening city. the pace of the city is snails pace but the traffic is choatic. and all the places to sip and dine in the city are either over the top expensive, too crammed for space or the music is too loud. now this is a place which is little out of the city limits and you might take 30-45 minutes to reach there as this happens to be just the at end of the city limits. the approach road from the OMR is about 300 metres or so and is a tad too bumpy. when you reach there you ll be delighted to see that the place is huge, open spaces and dreamy little shacks. the beer they serve is amazingly chilled and you can dive right into a bottle by the bar and then settle in. the snacks are great. prices are far too good and food amazing and sumptous. why should you not go there? amazing breeze (its by the beach but not on the beach) great leg space and elbow room. no one sitting on the next table to be privy to your intimates
As it is often said, food is not the only factor that plays a huge role in making a restaurant a success. A good ambience can too pull an establishment a long way to its popular journey and earn it a place on the hot seller chart. And what better place to provide a stunning backdrop than Chennai? The beauty of Chennai can’t be limited to few words. The city being a port point offers the enthusiastic diners with scenic spots to dine at, with a backdrop of sea and sounds of palm trees rustling. What if we tell you that we know just the place, where you can drink and chat in peace with the sea in your sights, with a canopy of the stars? Presiding on East Coast Road, in Akkarai is a superb little joint known as ‘Cocktail Bar By Kipling’.
The bar is different than your average conventional watering hole and enjoys the luxury of a beautiful location, which is right on the rooftop. The view is a breath-taking one, with restless sea and a green patch consisting of lush palm trees. In the evening as the sky comes alive with stars, you are treated to a cosy cocoon of trees that flanks the roof on all sides. The roof is left uncovered except for some delicate gazebos and an exposed red brick hut, which serves as the bar. Grab your friends and pick a seat near the parapet so you have an unbarred view of the sea. Wide basins of water fitted with plants and lights are tucked into various corners, adding to the charm. The ambience is casual, romantic and quite intimate.
Cocktail Bar by Kipling is one of those budget-friendly bars where, you can drink in peace without giving your wallet much of the thought. Leave your woes behind and drown yourself in their delicious cocktail concoctions made excellently by the bartender. Choose anything between, berry Collins, grape mojito, sexy lady, shandy, mango mania and lemon thunder, to go with the starters. Rest of the bar menu is pretty impressive as well, if you want to dabble in stronger spirits. Food wise try out, pad thai, chicken kebabs, fish finger, pasta, biryani, veg ciabatta, chicken satay, mutton rogan josh and veg lasagne. Wrap the evening on a sweet note with gajar ka halwa, tiramisu or a mud cake.
