Rather 3.75 stars. Good decent place to hangout. The aura created is great and gives it a feel for family and friends to hang out and relax for hours together over the cutting chai and great fusioned savouries available. I myself spent 2-2.5 hours chit chatting by ordering one thing or the other. It has quite many pockets provided for dining, the inner pockets being a little dark even during day time. Baked vada pao was different in the sense of stuffing the potatoe mix from the side of the bun, which makes it look elegant and not a regular vada pao. Thus food from the Indian streets is renamed and presented in a different manner, making us to comment on the pricing which goes a bit far. But expecting all this in Chennai is a wonderful experience in itself 🤩🤓
It is a big restaurant located in harrington road chetpet opp to mcc school and above ID. ambiance was good and walls were well decorated. It resembled a mumbai street food cafe. I ordered a panneer roller coster which was cottage cheese mixed with crunchy onions green chillies and coriander wrapped in a bread and deep fried. It was super delicious but only 5 pieces per plate. It arrived in a giant wheel with 5 slots and 1 slot for the dip. Nice way of presenting the dish. Then i ordered a desi burrito which is roomali roti stuffed with spicy indian rice and paneer tikka masala. Finally it was the desset makwhas which gave a sweet ending to the meal. It is paan cheese cake and a glass of thandai shots and 2 paan jelly. All the items tasted great and service was super quick. But the cost is on the higher side. It costed around 840 incl gst. Nice place to dinein once in a while.
Peaceful and colorful ambiance, tasty food, good service..What more to ask for??We ordered Chilli Paneer and Burji Pao for starter and "The tiffin Box" as the main dish. Infact "Tiffin box" menu was sufficient for 2 adults after the starters we had.Every dish was worth the money. A must visit vegetarian restaurant!!
Luck by chance.. Had not heard about this place. It was one of those evenings when we were driving around to find a new place to eat, something we had not tasted before and that's how we happened to find Desi Klub. As the name suggests, the place is done up in mumbaiya ishtyle!! The names of dishes in the menu (mainly chaat, Indian, indo Chinese) is bollywood themed and some of them are funny to read. Chef is from Mumbai and he's ensuring Chennaites get the Mumbai flavor. Given we were three of us only, we could not try everything but whatever we tried was excellent. So definitely going back again to try out more. Paneer dishes are very good and I would recommend people to definitely taste the tawa pulao which is not common in Chennai (at least I havent eaten it before I'm Chennai). The owner also has a little counter below the restaurant where they serve hot jalebis and hot kesar milk. Ambience to food.. All in all a good evening experience. Just hope as always they maintain the standards.
Every foodie has a strong love for street food and Chennaites are no different. Whenever they get a chance to pass up on pastas and burgers they end up gorging on delicious street food rich in spice and tanginess. Seeing their love for these popular quick snacks, several eateries are including street fare on their menu to attract the desi generation of chaat lovers. Ladies with a spicy tooth or students looking for a place to chill out with friends can always head towards ‘Desi Klub’, a quirky casual space designed to bring people together and give them a spot to hangout. Address of Desi Klub is a little off beat but approachable. Find it tucked on Harrington Road, Chetpet in Chennai. They provide valet parking at the restaurant; take advantage of it after a long driving.
