The whole place looks like it has been washed with the colour white with pristine white walls and table linen. The wooden furniture is humble and unique when it comes to the design. The 'Bean and Pepper Quesadilla' is a whole-hearted option for the vegetarians. Their lunch buffets usually have a waiting list on the weekends.
We booked the lunch buffet through Goibibo experience and reserved our slot calling the restaurant. It was good experience. Am not sure how much they charge for a lunch buffet walking in to restaurant but booking through Goibibo was a real worth for the money. The service was perfect they served nearly 12-13 starts on the table including chicken, fish, squid, pastas and chats, all were very good.. they had a decent main course with a couple of chicken and fish curry.. but no mutton dishes was found. The desert section was not too bad, had a bunch to choose from.. the service and ambiance was good too, our family enjoyed the lunch and had a pretty good time.. worth for the money!
If u dnt mind a hair or two in your food then this restaurant is ok. Else staff is friendly but does nt accommodate your requests withoit firm persuasion. Food is merely ok and lot of variety is nt available especially fr the breakfast buffet.
When I was booking my slot for dinner, saw buffet for 2 persons cost around 1400rs with 50% off, but in dot yum they took 1100 rs each along with GST, so it was 1213 rs per person which is more total 2426 rs with 50% off... Huge difference in what's was shown in EazyDiner and what's was billed in hotel. Take a note and help me out if you really can... Why bill is more???
Really appreciate the impressive serivce and the food quality. All the food we had in the buffet was appropriately cooked, the look eye catching and the taste awesome. The service was personalized with special attention paid by the Manager Mr Joy. The stewards were smiling and warm too specially Ritika and Sourav. Plan to come soon again!!!!
Stayed at the Aloft (which I have reviewed too, nothing to go by) and had breakfast here for the short stay. The food is average run of the mill spread. But it is COLD. They leave the lids on the warmers open so everything becomes cold. I told the waiters that but the next day same story. Got some coffee and it was luke warm at the best. Had to keep telling them to warm it up. Even the fresh dosa was cold. The continental spread was ok, the omlette was good. But every time you order something you have to explain it carefully so you get what you want and not something else.
The location of Sholinganallur is fast becoming quite a foodie magnet due to its impressive gastronomy, which entails trendy set of restaurants and hip pubs that have redefined the food scene of Chennai. No longer it’s just a pass through to better vicinities, it has an identity of its own now. Sholinganallur has gained some fantastic names in food industry by welcoming a horde of star-studded restaurants and some great lively pubs that has converted the area into such an attraction. One of the newest addition to the gastronomy galaxy of Sholinganallur is ‘Dot.Yum’, which is as interesting as it sounds. It’s part of Aloft Hotel and is open all day long so one can waltz in anytime for a toothsome lavish meal. Majority of their clientele includes in-house guests, businessmen, locals and travellers.
Like every other hotel restaurant, Dot.Yum is created in the same way – elegantly. The interiors are fashioned in a modern and posh manner, with ample of space broken cleverly by wooden screens. Not much of the colours are used, rather they have stuck with an earthy palette which brings in depth and earthiness. Long formal tables are bought in to the scene to encourage proper refined dining. It’s a good place to host small dinners with family or business colleagues. The hush-hush ambience works well for important business meetings too. Décor is simple, elegant and classy. While there is nothing striking about the décor, it doesn’t fail to impress you. The simple pristine colour scheme is soothing to the eyes. Another great factor which matters is the service that they provide. It’s smooth and efficient at best.
Menu is worthy of an all-day dining restaurant by being both global and varied. Unlike other multi-cuisine menus, Dot.Yum explores North-Indian cuisine more deeply. Besides Indian, Italian cuisine is excellently prepared so opt for that. Dining here will not break your pockets, indulge freely. Stop by for a leisurely breakfast or enjoy their luxurious setting in the evening. The menu opens with appetizers like, chicken satay, vegetable wontons, calamari fritters, zaffrani paneer tikka, hara bhara sheekh, crab lollipops and grilled vegetable brochettes. Dabble into the mains with, fillet mignon steak, kai kari khorma, farfalle with shrimps & pesto, beef steak burger, corn & tomato pizza, goan fish curry and grilled fish with citrus beurre blanc. Finish with opera pastry, crème brulee, baked apple & cinnamon pie and kesar phirni.
