Fruit Bae is a cafe in Nungambakkam, Chennai serving beverages. Known for coffee and desserts; ideal for coffee catch-ups and casual meals.

Visited Fruitbae yesterday, and sadly, the experience was not up to the mark as my mates suggested. We ordered two desserts, three juices and two hot chocolates. Every item was underwhelming, with the hot chocolate tasting like it was made from the cheapest instant powder in the pantry.

The real deal‑breaker was the pistachio kunafa. It didn’t taste fresh at all, and halfway through we discovered an insect embedded in it. Whether mosquito or mystery bug, it was absolutely shocking and honestly terrifying from a hygiene point of view.

What made it worse was the staff’s reaction: no apology, no concern, just a casual removal of that one item from the bill—as if a free kunafa makes up for a health hazard. For a place that invests in ambience, basic food safety and customer care seem to be completely missing.

Good lighting and pretty walls cannot hide bad quality and poorer integrity. For the prices they charge, customers deserve safe food, accountability and respect.

Absolutely loved it here! The deserts are amazing! The banoffee falooda is my personal fave! The parking is a tricky situation tho, since the road doesn’t allow it

Blueberry Berry Up and Black Forest Sundae was really good. But, Tiramisu Sundae ruined my expectations. A lot of Coffee Ice Cubes were there in Tiramisu Sundae which I didn't like.
Overall experience we great, place was clam and peaceful.

Staff behaviour is very nice and they are very friendly and helpful.

I ordered Dubai chocolate, Trimaisu Sundae, Chocolate Falooda.
1) Dubai Chocolate - Good I enjoyed.
2) Tiramisu Sundae - Heavenly worth every penny.
3) Chocolate Falooda - Worst they put Payasam , 10 Rs Chocos, Sabja and Chocolate Ice-cream.
I suggest you guys buy chocos from petti shop and Mix it with Chocolate Icecream, it will be better. Chocolate Falooda is not worth the money and I don't even want share photo of it.

I tried their special falooda and it was amazing! Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly layered with fruits and ice cream. Great presentation and a nice place to chill with friends. Definitely worth trying at FruitBae!

Having just enjoyed a fantastic dinner, we were eager to explore something novel and different, which led us to the inviting FruitBae, at Khader Nawaz Khan, Chennai. The setup was appealing, and the menu offered a wide array of choices. Opting for their recommended favorites, we were unfortunately left feeling somewhat underwhelmed compared to the initial expectations. Despite this, the establishment clearly enjoys significant popularity, attracting a diverse crowd of all ages.

Worst management and very poor staff behavior.

I accidentally left my purse there and later received a call saying it was found. We immediately went back, collected the purse, and returned home. After reaching home, I realized that ₹500 was missing from the purse. That amount was very sentimental to me, as it was given by someone special.

I called them immediately and explained the situation. The staff member spoke very casually and said there was no issue, assuring me they would check the CCTV footage and get back to me the next morning.

The next morning, when we called again, they kept delaying. First, they said the concerned person would come by 10 a.m. Later, they asked us to contact the CCTV person directly. Each time, we clearly explained how important and sentimental that ₹500 was and requested their help.

When we finally spoke to the CCTV person, he first said he would check and call us back. Later, he said that a police complaint must be filed to check the CCTV footage. This is completely unacceptable and clearly feels like an excuse to avoid responsibility. It was obvious they knew we would not file a police complaint for ₹500, so they kept diverting the issue to tire us out and make us stop asking.

This behavior is extremely disappointing. It feels like they are trying to protect their staff and hide their mistakes to save their reputation. We have visited this place many times since it opened—with family and friends, for every celebration—and it was our favourite place. But after this experience, we will never visit again.

Such a cheap behavior. I lost something very sentimental, and it is still hurting. Don’t steal someone’s stuff.
