Holy Grill is quite holy indeed, carving out a niche in the popular unlimited barbecue grill format by offering a 100% vegetarian experience in a chic, bistro-like space. Admittedly, it is not very different from choosing a vegetarian option at any other barbeque restaurant, except there is not a sight of meat anywhere around.
Went for veg buffet at Holy Grill for lunch. This is in the busy KNK area - but the place was nearly empty for lunch. The Paneer and mushroom starters were good. Roti/naan with 3-4 veg dishes are available for main course. Desserts were fine and had multiple options. Worth trying but don't expect anything great at Holy Grill!!
The only thing positive is that this place is veg only grill place in Heart of the city.. Other than cramped, no good food and very lousy service. Please rethink before visiting
Starters has many varieties and taste is good, main course and Desert are okay. Service need to be improved.
This is a pure Veg BBQ! We went here for lunch. The grill starters were very good. Mushroom in particular was awesome. Pineapple and Paneer were very good too. Though some people may find them to be mildly spicy, the taste is very good. We were pleasantly surprised at the side dishes for Roti/Naan. They served four side dishes and all of them were exceptionally tasty!! While, usually, the starters take the cake in BBQs, this was a great surprise. They were simply amazing. Desserts taste was ok. Also, the number of items can be increased. Service was good. If you really want to try a pure veg grill, this is definitely a good choice.
For a Vegetarian this place is a great option . You get veg barbeque starters at a unbelievable price . Relished their grilled mushroom , panneer , Pineapple and lots of other starters . They also served us other main course to our tables and the dessert was the icing of the cake was so delicious
Barbeque is a cooking technique which is an ancient one. Our forefathers have perfected this art of cooking while on their hunting trips when all they were left with was wooden twigs. Barbequed fare has always found a place in royal kitchens where the cooks were entrusted with stacks of fresh games and expected to prepare something sensational. Since then this fare has transferred itself into the local households with a flourish. Chennai too has seen a deep admiration for barbeque food which bought forth a tide of trendy restaurants specialising in this particular fare. Part of this trendy arrivals is a fantastic eatery which is tailor made for foodies enthusiastic about barbeque. Located in bustling lanes of Nungambakkam area, the restaurant falls on Khader Nawaz Khan Road. The locality is a busy and a vibrant one dominated by superb restaurants and pubs.
Holy Grill often plays host to cheerful families, foodie friends, hungry office goers and even tourists. The restaurant is a popular one, a fact reinforced by the difficulty in acquiring a table. The place is busy all the time, even on weekdays. Lunch time bear witness to many team lunches and corporate outings. Holy Grill keeps a very dark and earthy kind of décor. It’s entirely done in wooden tones from ceiling to floor, not a single drop of another colour to add a relief. The deep brown décor doesn’t seem too dull because of the abundant space provided by the restaurant. Formal tables and cosy booths are included so you can dine in comfort. Walls are painted with striking food related murals in white tone. Few modern lamps hanging overhead, casts a soft golden glow around the room. The effect is earthy yet chic.
Tables are fitted with a small live grill which is later loaded with scrumptious appetizers for you to grill. Menu is completely vegetarian and explores only the North-Indian cuisine. We find their buffet spread much more economical but their a la carte is pretty good as well. Menu is short and crisp with crowd pleasing dishes. Enjoy starters like, malai paneer tikka, subzi gilafi seekh, Moscow French onion soup, crispy chilli potato, masaledar bhutta, afghani lesuni broccoli, garam samosa ragda chat, shabnam ki moti and reshmi paneer tikka. Pair a peshawari naan with, pindi chole, dum Holy subzi handi, dal-e-Holy, paneer laung lagan, kofta-e-shaam savera and Jannat-e-numa. Gajjar ka halwa, kulfi with falooda and dessert jars provide the perfect finish.
A casual non-fussy date for a Special Occasion calls for a trip to Holy Grill in Nungambakkam, Chennai. This smartly furnished eatery is good enough to feature on any foodie’s must-visit list, especially if they are pure vegetarians. At Holy Grill there is not a single dish of meat in sight, a novelty for a popular North Indian restaurant. Take up one of those comfy leather booths and start your date on a nice note.
