The old style decent looking restaurant is apt for satisfying your North Indian and South Indian hunger pangs. The ambience boasts simple interiors which are perfect to dine with family. Amongst the must try dishes are the Chinese starters which include Chilly Chicken and Chilly Fish.
Food was tasteless and service was average. Not recommended unless you love to eat fresh fishes (taken live from a tank) - which they claim as their USP
We were stuck on arcot road and had to choose among the restaurants in the vicinity. We left out the regular chains and decided to try out Kattumaram. Dead wrong a decision we would find out eventually. When we step in, the place is deserted. We had our first cue there; but we decided to grab a table anyway. They advertise a "Hook & Cook" service - up to the extent of calling themselves the City's only (or first, I'm unsure) freshly caught seafood restaurant - but all the aquariums are empty. We didn't take that cue either. :( The soup was decent; but that was pretty much it. The fish smelled like it was a 100 days old. The chicken lollypop smelled and tasted just of vinegar and the kadai vegetables was just an assortment of vegetables boiled and stuck together in a plate with a hint of grey coloured matter. The onion raitha that came with the biriyani had a white gooey ball like substance. When we complained, the waiters just giggled and took it away. Have no clue what that was! They also missed many of the items on the menu. South indian food was unavailable and hence the light eaters were stuck with naans and curries. The butter chicken was palatable. To top this all, 3 of us got sick the next day and had to live on Entrocanal. So, you get the idea.
