Krishnavillasam is located at Nungambakkam, Chennai. A well-lit space with vibrant interiors and comfortable seating gives this place a welcoming vibe. It serves delicious South Indian and North Indian cuisine. some of their must-have dishes are 'Punjabi Chole', 'Nei Oothappam', 'Visesha Saapadu', 'Makka Chola Vadai' and 'Red Thai Vegetable Curry'.
We have a terrible experience at this restaurant. The taste of the food was very average and we could see cockroaches running around our dining table which certainly casted doubts about the quality of the food as well. The people do not have any idea about the food items on the menu. Lot of items in the menu was unavailable which limited our choice. When we visited access to restrooms and wash area were at difference floors. Also if you are paying with card they don’t accept it at the restaurant floor and have to go downstairs to pay by ourselves only to deal the guy who has no clue on handling the card payment. I will not recommend this restaurant and try it at your own risk.
Excellent food at affordable price..super atmosphere forf family dining and best bet if you like south indian gu for it
An amazing place to take your folks or your grand parents for a nice and filling meal. We had the visesha saapadu which is one of their thali options given for lunch and the veg curries and daal served were so well done that you could completely relish what was on the plate and you don't feel uneasy after eating. Fantastic experience! Will keep visiting KV. All the best to the team:)
Tried Thali with friends. Food is Okay, not so great but food is tasty. Service was also good may be because we went on Week day. Overall, good Vegetarian restaurant
Having eaten in Krishnavillasam (Nungambakkam), I expected the same experience in Adyar. Some of the menu items were not in store, but disappointment was ... in abundance. Location & Parking The place is easily locatable. There is parking for 3-4 cars and quite a few bikes. In any case, street parking is possible. Decor and ambience Pretty decent. About Us We were a family (families) of 13 members seated slightly away from the main area - towards a nook. The restaurant has child seats the accommodate the young ones. We had arrived early and were possibly the first set of guest for lunch. Food Apparently, the restaurant had confused food with revenge, for, mostly it was served cold ... or close to that. I heat tolerance is low, but imagine how the soup would have been as I drank it straight from the bowl upon its arrival! Not just the soup, a few other dishes came to our table after having contributed to global warming. Taste-wise, most of the items were good. I would say the South Indian thali was well-presented, kashmiri naan was a miss, and some listed desserts were missing in the kitchen after our orders were taken (for which we got complimentary replacements). Air Conditioning I guess the annual maintenance contract for the air conditioners had expired. Initially, we assumed that we were not getting adequate cooling because we were seated in a nook. That, however, is no excuse. And then, someone in the main area complained as well. What was galling is that the management refused to acknowledge the elephant in the room, much less do anything about it. Service Despite us being early (and initially, the only) customers, delivery to the tables was slower than expected. As mentioned, the food was cooler than usual and the restaurant was warmer than normal. My nephew quipped, "Probably they switched the AC to face the kitchen - that explains the cold food and the warm ambience". :-) Thankfully, most waiters spoke Tamil and the one who didn't, didn't understand Hindi either. He nodded to everything we said and disappeared to send someone else for us to repeat. Our request to call a senior person to complain about the A.C. problem went unheeded. Even the semi-senior person who came had nothing to say about it. Value for money? It is worth the price if the A.C. had been working and food had been at the temperature it should have been. Would you pay A.C. fare for non-A.C. fare?
