  • There really is a multitude of charcuterie and salads laid out. While I wouldn’t call anything outstanding, it’s nice enough to make an entire meal out of
  • My Spaghetti Carbonara arrived as a dense mound, with lashings of cream that shone in the light. If you order pasta then ask for a smaller serving, more pepper and no cream (my suggestion)
  • The dessert counter is not quite sugar-scenic, undainty mousse and pies appear like they’ve run a marathon from the patissier. I would stick with the Gulab Jamun and Pineapple

If this restaurant was a desert, then its cold section would be an oasis. A dozen little plates of green and red, meat and fish, salad and salami can keep you engaged, without your weighing scale noticing. I cannot say the same about much else. Like a Sweet and Sour Soup, which tasted like burnt cabbage with vinegar and soy, to a drab Kozhi Kuzhambu that both the South and North could berate unitedly. My Mutton Curry showed hints of masalchi skill but was let down by dogged meat. Consider the cold section at Oasis, keenly.

Pleasure of dining at a multi-cuisine restaurant cannot compare with anything else. One gets to enjoy a melange of global cuisines on one table and dabble into different flavours at one time. A diner doesn’t have to limit himself to just one sort of flavour palette and can go as exotic as they want. Not only you are treated to an extensive menu, you can enjoy it all for a fairly budget-friendly price. Especially in Chennai which is such a global city where gastronomy is concerned, such multi-cuisine restaurants are plenty. But very few are as good as ‘Oasis’ which is a superb extension of Radisson Blu hotel in Egmore vicinity. The locality is a trendy one so the hotel gets abundance of footfall of hungry patrons who are willing to drop a bundle for a decent meal. It gets visited by local families, travellers, businessmen and those who simply have appreciation for good food.
