Bombay Brasserie comes from the stables of M ‘Hot Breads’ Mahadevan’s Oriental cuisine, with no connection to Taj’s London original that I know of. One of Oriental’s (which arguably is Chennai’s biggest dining out brand) signature properties, the premise is comparable - to capture the eclectic spirit of Mumbai with a Pan-Indian menu. Practically, it is the same fare as Copper Chimney with a handful of namesake Sindhi/Parsi/Bengali additions. The Brasserie has been packing them in though since it opened in 2014, with strikingly cheery ambience and likeable, if sometimes facetiously obsequious, service.
