Contrary to the usual Thai and Chinese centred Asian restaurants of Chennai, Soy Soi is a welcome change with street food-centred menu served in an upmarket setting, bordering on fine dining. Expect to see 'Malaysian Nasi Kampur' share space with the 'Vietnamese Pho' and the 'Singaporean Laksa', just like the 'Satays' are from both Malaysia and Indonesia. However, nothing can take away the comforts of a 'Thai Green Curry' or a 'Crispy Lotus Stem' from the menu. The 'Baos' here are large and messy with loads of meat. Dinners can tend to get crowded and that renders the service a little slow but is always friendly.
