Located in Adyar, Chennai; The Madras Place is a casual dining restaurant. It is a well-lit place with minimalistic décor, wall paintings and comfortable seating arrangements. They offer an eclectic menu of European and Italian cuisines. One can blow out on 'Corn Nuggets', 'Shrimp Popcorn', 'Jalapenos Mac n Cheese', 'Beef Burger', 'Chicken Ham- Fried Egg Sandwich' and 'Spicy Nepolitana with Herbed Rice'.
Right at the outset, I learned I could not avail EazyDiner benefit despite booking via the app (was told the drinks weren't on offer) but I was happy to use my Zomato Gold instead. Not too impressed by the vegetarian options available on the menu, but while the desserts are indeed top draw (Choco mud and Theobroma are a must-try), the service is work-in-progress. Slow, to begin with, and the utter incompetence and lack of accountability left me with more negatives than positives. Upon leaving the restaurant, I found my two-wheeler knocked over—oil spilled around and the frame broken. This, despite my having checked with the security on duty and the members of the staff (Ravi and Kevin) as to where I could park before entering. The watchman was rude and nonchalant when I asked him how he didn't notice what had happened; the other cafe employees didn't want to get involved. The couple of them that reluctantly did engage couldn't wait to leave either; it was evident from their body language. Extremely disappointed with how the matter was dealt with. I wouldn't call what I was offered an appropriate compensation. So much for having decided to visit. That Madras Place indeed. That place with a spineless support staff. That place that won't care much about your experience. But yes, that place that serves sinilicious dessert! Update: Edited my 2-star review to 4. It has to be said that the management were quick to understand my complaint (a shame this wasn't brought to their notice then and there). They heard me out again and admitted to being at fault after checking internally. I had written to them apropos of the response my review had elicited here and an officer (Ms Kumar) got in touch and the grievance was redressed soon after. It is indeed pleasing when there is a human element to customer support. Communication is key. Not leaving a management lesson here, but there are many business out there that can take a leaf out of this team's book and, perhaps, improve their customers' experience. Sincerely appreciate you reaching out, Mathangi. And yes, I look forward to my next visit. The sin of Theobroma warrants repeating.
Decide to try this place all of a sudden. No regrets. The pasta was very delicious and even more delicious was the Chicken Lasagne. Choclate mud jar was also good.
People must first google and find what is poutine. its an amazing dish which is available only in this restaurant. Its an amazing place with excellent interiors. Its very stunning to find this kind of restaurant in that calm location. You will enjoy almost all their dishes.Westernized food in Chennai that too authentic food. Don't miss this place for sure.
Food is very good and taste is good. But it is a little pricey. However, I usually get theeal combo option for lunch and that is a value for money.
Been here for lunch with family. Ordered starters like Korean chicken, Salads and hash browns with drinks like Iced tea and watermelon juice. Some items weren't availalble and we were forced to place replacements. Quality of starers were okay. Ordered Chicken burger, fish and chips and pasta. Burger was bad, too sour and sweet. The worst burger I ever had. The pasta was very good and the fish and chips was also good. Its a okay place, calm and quiet. Food quality and ambience can improve. A bit pricey for the quality they offer. Overall okay experience.
