If you ask around the gastronomy circle in Chennai for the best all day dining place then answer would be a resounding ‘The Kitchen’. Part of The Raintree Hotel in Teynampet the restaurant is their most frequented and beloved establishment. Local families, foodies, businessmen and tourists all kinds of people come to The Kitchen for a lavish and relaxing meal. As it is a hotel restaurant The Kitchen is only an extension of the elegance of the hotel. The look they have tried to capture is modern and swanky. No floral traditional design here. The décor is edgy and sharp looking. With minimum usage of colours they have still managed to make the room appear cheerful and attractive. The room is completely white except for occasional use of peppy yellow to brighten things up and add a much required contrast.

The service at The Kitchen is smooth and flawless. Staff is attuned to your needs at all times and is a helpful lot. If you have any instructions for your meal feel free to tell them. Because of the diverse clientele the chef has composed a clever and all-encompassing multi-cuisine menu which is designed to satisfy every kind of palate. The Kitchen opens quite early in the morning in case you want to grab a leisurely breakfast accompanied by your newspaper. For first course the chef serves, Caesar salad, gosht malai seekh kebab, mezze platter, roasted tomato and basil soup, Greek salad, murgh kalimirch tikka, afghani broccoli, half dozen peri-peri chicken skewers, cocktail samosa, tom yum soup, crisp salmon rolls, French fries, spicy potato wedges, chatpatte jhinge, tandoori paneer tikka and cream of chicken.

The main part of the menu is as impressive as the first. You will be enticed by an array of curries with exotic vegetables and meat and beautifully cooked seafood. If you so want share a pizza with your family or pick a plate of rich pasta with a piece of bread to satisfy your urges. Continental mains features dishes like, breaded fish ‘n’ chips, half roast chicken, nasi goreng, gosht dum biryani, Thai green curry, baked macaroni & cheese and grilled Scottish salmon. Chocolate fondant or kesar rasmalai will end things on the right note at The Kitchen.
