Almost occupying every corner of Novotel’s first floor, The Square is the sole restaurant in the hotel. It is bright and easygoing with live music on some evenings. While the prices are reasonable, the food is yet to find its feet – the buffet spread seems a bit disjointed at the moment, some interesting offerings are marred by glaring omissions. The á la carte menu might be a better bet with the nice Belgian pork ribs and an accommodating array of breakfast sets.
It is located in outskirts of Chennai so it is less in crowd and very calm. The buffet was good but i felt they have very little choice of menu. otherwise the taste is good and price is reasonable
11-04-2018 This place is located in the Novotel Hotel, Egatoor, Chennai. They serve food in Europe and Chinese cuisine along with some Asian-influenced dishes like The Novotel Club Sandwich, Mustard Spiced Chicken Tikka, Pineapple Juice, Pistachio Lassi etc. The presentation was good, taste was also fine but the most important, the food was fresh. It had an attractive ambience and was commonly known for it's luxury dining. The decor was amazing and lighting was good. The seating capacity was good, staff was well-trained and courteous, and the place was hygienic. Apart from that, the service was good and the place was pocket-friendly. Overall experience:- (5/5) Food:- (5/5) Ambience:- (5/5) Economical:- (5/5) Planning to visit again:- (5/5)
Stayed at the Novotel hotel in Chennai on a business trip. Loved their hospitality to all guests both at breakfast and evening meal whilst dining at the Square. The staff is very courteous and great at service. The Square is a fantastic restaurant in Chennai that offers an amazing buffet spread well spaced out and a variety to choose from included pizzas noodles and freshly made food from the ala carte menu. Food is made to the highest quality and made to your palate taste. You only need to ask the chef's and they'll cater to perfection. Crispy chilly chicken is the best I've had along with other signature dishes the chef's cooked for me. I highly recommend eating here if you get a chance.
The food was good, the choice of food was also great. Much improvement required in the catering / House Manager in their attitude. Total mess and rukus in managing the activities. Service was noicy and disturbing.
My wife and I went to The Square for our wedding anniversary dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The food was superb and the service excellent. Will definitely be going back for more!
Dining at multi-cuisine restaurants often saves us a lot of trouble. First of all, to be able to enjoy a lavish feast of different cuisines on one table is a luxury in itself. Second, the variety of delicacies. You get to travel the world gastronomically without changing the table. We like our options! We like the fact that at multi-cuisine restaurants one gets to dabble in various kinds of fare and can go as exotic as we want. The pleasure of dining multiplies when one is offered so many choices prepared well. Chennai is a pretty global city in itself and has come a very long way from what it was a decade ago gastronomically. It is crammed with so many multi-cuisine restaurants but leading the pack is ‘The Square’. The Square is a crowd pleasing place where it’s difficult to find a fault. From décor to menu to service, everything is flawless.
Let’s talk about the location first. The Square is encased firmly on the first floor of very swanky Novotel Hotels in Egatoor. This group of hotels are fairly modern in approach than its fellow counterparts. They have really only extended the elegance and modernity of the hotel to the restaurant. First off what hits you instantly is the inviting wooden finish that seems to be such a rage in all the five star restaurants and the space. They have provided space generously. The service counter is backed by a tiled blue wall that adds a much desired pop of colour to the scene. The space is brightly lit and comfortably furnished with lightweight furniture. Everything is chic, modern and quite stylish.
The restaurant is operational all day long and opens its doors quite early in the day so one can stop by for a hearty breakfast before heading to work. While it may cost a bundle, the result is satisfactory. Menu comprises of European, North-Indian and Chinese cuisines. Breakfast section is lavish and heady with multiple combos. But if its appetizers you are looking for, start with bruschetta, sous-vide chicken wings, golden fried calamari, crystal dumplings, bharwan khumb, macchli ajwani tikka, red bean empanadas and baby pork ribs. Move forward with the delicious mains like, stir-fried beef & broccoli, aloo katliyan, kali mirch ka murgh, roasted mushroom & sage ravioli, grilled panini, wok-tossed king prawns and gosht kid um biryani. See us off with an array of decadent desserts.
