The Summerhouse Eatery is tucked away in a dead end near Seethammal Colony, Alwarpet in Chennai. It has a cherish-able range of eateries inspired by the pan-continental cuisines. The interiors comprise a rustic outlook with modern furniture and lamps hanging from the ceiling. Their ‘Spaghetti In Thai Chilli Jam’ - spaghetti cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce along with freshly chopped basil with shiitake mushrooms/prawns is a unique yet a delectable offering of the restaurant. Apart from this, they have a segment dedicated to the custom-made ‘Artisan Teas’: ‘Hot Mango Mess’ - Darjeeling green tea, layered with the toasty sweet earthiness of liquorice, spice from clove, peppercorn and sweet hints of mint and fennel is an art in itself.
Went yesterday with family .. Ordered Tomato Basil Soup, Sambal Chicken, Nutella crepe, Chicken Ravoli - These were awesome .. With regards Garlic bread with Cheese and Shrimp Flat Bread - it could have been better ..
I came to meet a friend here around 5PM. It was pretty quiet - only a couple of other tables had people. In about an hour it filled up. The lemonade here is quite good, and we had the beet arancini - also pretty good. There's a nice little garden area with tables and lights out at the back - would recommend sitting there when there are no mosquitoes around!
We enjoyed our visit here and have come back a couple of times. The food is planned by one of Chennai's greatest chefs Matangi, who also runs That Madras Place. In keeping with her philosophy, the ingredients are authentic, the dishes have a twist to the traditional preparation and the menu is well priced. The ambience is good although it is a reconstituted house, and the serving staff are courteous and quick.
Nice place in Alwarpet . Google maps can locate you well . All the food were good . The noodles was not so great . Maybe we should have gone for the continental food .
Visited this place and tried a couple of their pastas and desserts. The ambiance was very feel good-ish and the food tasted really good. Would definitely love to come back and dine again.
