The other Westminster in Chennai (there is one at the Radisson Blu, Egmore as well), it almost ticks all the right boxes for a cigar and malt lounge. Mahogany and beige upholstery add a suitable coat of class, although the space feels cramped due to one too many tables crammed in. Soft jazz with a great selection of cigars in the humidor and spirits in the cellars complete the gentrification. But wait, where is the smoking room?

I think every guy has a weakness for gentlemen’s bar and would sometimes like to suit up and puff on those smooth Havanas. We have to admit, gentlemen’s bars are class apart. On one hand you have those loud trendy striking bars and on the other you have the elegant attentive backdrop of gentlemen’s bar. You may think it is a watering hole for older men but let me tell you, now days many young ones are opting for them more and more. There is something very classy about drinking in a well-dressed place, where your every wish is their command. You are treated with warmth yet a aloof politeness that screams standard. Chennai has one of those places too. ‘The Westminister’ in Crowne Plaza of Adyar Park, is a place designed for gentlemen. It is pretty popular with young or old corporates, businessmen and in-house guests.
