Wangs Kitchen opened its first ever outlet in Chennai in the year 1995. The restaurant offered something which food lovers in Chennai had been craving for many years: Authentic Chinese cuisine. With some of the best chefs dishing out an array of mouth-watering Chinese dishes, it did not take long for Wangs Kitchen to make a mark in the city. Now, they have opened restaurants in cities like Bangalore, Madurai, Coimbatore, Pondicherry and Thiruvannamalai. The ‘Mega Meal’ which has a pre-defined list of dishes, you can either choose the one which serves 2 people or the one which serves 4 people. The other is the ‘My Box’ which has set vegetarian and non-vegetarian combo meals perfect for office lunches. The vegetarian combo includes ‘Schezwan Rice with Singapore Chilly Gobi’, ‘Chilly Garlic Noodles with Potato Chilly Sauce’. Non-vegetarian can go for their combos like ‘Wangs Special Fried Rice with Chicken Peking’ or ‘Singapore Noodles with Chicken Manchurian Sauce’ and more.
I absolutely LOVE this restaurant! It has a wonderful appetizer of Brie baked in a puff pastry that is to die for! Their steaks are scrumptious and I have to say everything I have ever eaten has been wonderful!
Chris, the manager at Chestertown Marina, suggested we try this place and we are so glad we did. Learnt that the place was in its final weeks since the owner got an offer he couldn't pass up to sell. Unfortunately that's happening since it was excellent food, spectacular service and a real popular place (especially with locals). Good luck to Michael with his new life experiences. He is a extremely friendly and caring owner. We are so glad we went here to have great memories of an excellent Chestertown restaurant!
Our friend had been here before and she highly recommended the crab cakes. So one evening the 4 of us went to the Blue Heron for dinner, 3 of us ordered the crab cakes and the 4th ordered grilled rock fish. The food was excellent. One of the highlights of our visit to Chestertown, MD.
Authentic Eastern Shore specialties were tradition here. The atmosphere could have used updating, but the service was sincere and the food was good. So sorry to see it go!
Alas, it seems like all great things come to an end... and the Blue Heron has had a great twenty year run. The friendly owner has accepted an offer from Washington College... and my favorite restaurant will be closing at the end of October... and the college will set up the Eastern Shore Food Lab in its place. OK - we started our farewell tour last night. Since soft shells weren't on the menu, I went with the crab cakes... as did my wife. And I started with a perfect Bombay martini. Yeah, we get great crab cakes around here, but there are none better than the Blue Heron's. One of the things that I'm going to miss most is the service. It's the most professional that you can find anywhere. And for a table clothe restaurant it is casually comfortable and friendly service. The owner, Paul, knows how to train folks. Yeah, I still have the duck... the risotto... the lamb,,, the oyster fritter and my wife has the filet to hit again before it closes. So... if you're looking for a good meal in the next couple of months... try the Blue Heron before it closes.
