If you can ignore the wall crammed with reproductions of old paintings, the black and white mosaic tile flooring and the paper place mats and napkins that sit at odds with the other elements of the interiors, you’ll begin to enjoy yourself at this little restaurant that tries hard to cater to guests from the Diplomat Hotel. The menu consists of breakfast options, snacks like onion pakodas (excellent) and sandwiches, as well as main courses comprising South Indian specialties. Meen moilee manages to replicate the flavours of Kerala to a T, and the appams arrive hot and fresh. Even better is the chicken chettinad, made with the full complement of spices.
