The menu is neat – not the run of the mill things that you get to eat at Hauz Khas Village – but things that you would actually like to tickle your taste buds. From the 'Banana Blossom Salad' to the 'Kolkata Sausage Flatbread', the chef has actually made an effort to expand peoples’ palates and at most times even succeeded. The 'Tibetan Hot Dog' was a pleasant surprise as it was served in a 'Tingmo Bun' but it was the 'Pulled Jackfruit Fajita' and the 'Truffle Kulcha' with wild 'Mushroom Seekh Kebab' that really whetted the appetite. The tender 'Coconut Chicken Curry' was another surprise and needs to be tried while the 'Captain Morgan’s Chocolate Fondue' needs to be put on your list right now.
Terribly small portions that aren't spectacularly delicious either. We were four of us. We ordered bruschetta and there were only two pieces. Then we ordered chilly paneer which was again very disappointing. The managment had nothing to say. The waiters didn't inform of their small portion size. Very very disappointing. The food was also very average. Nothing spectacular.
Went to this place to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Amazing place, great ambience, good music, good crowd and good food. Totally worth the money!
Auro Kitchen & Bar is a casual dining restaurant that is known for its amazing live music gigs. It serves food mainly from modern Indian & continental cuisines. LOCATION: it is located in the DDA Shopping Complex, Aurobindo Place, Hauz Khas. AMBIENCE/INTERIORS: Auro’s got a massive terrace with a massive bar all across the side. The seating is spacious and comfortable. The decor is minimal and have a raw appeal. The bar is made using a lot of woodwork and brass lighting inside giving it a really gorgeous look. SERVICE: the staff here is friendly and attentive. Service speed is also fast. FOOD & BEVERAGES: i had: - Apple & Walnut Salad ( 4/5 ) - Fondue Fries ( 4.8/5 ) - Artichoke & Spinach Fritters ( 4.5/5 ) - Croissant Caprese ( 4/5 ) - Cream Cheese Dimsum ( 5/5 ) - Three Cheese Flat Bread ( 4.8/5 ) - Captain Morgan Chocolate Fondue ( 4.5/5 ) - Char Grilled Gulabjamun with Rose Mascarpone ( 4.5/5 )
I had always ignored Auro in favour of Summerhouse (my usual hangout joint). Ever been there once before, the place was dead, with hardly any people. This time around, Friday night, there were people queuing up. The drinks menu had a lot of items missing (and I mean a lot), but the atmosphere sort of made up for the lack of choice of drinks. The outside seating with the fans also made it a memorable evening. The only food I can recommend (since there wasn't much eating) are the Pork Baos.
Auro has very good ambience and good crowd. At night and it becomes a very lively party place and also has live music going on sometimes. Their cocktails are the most interesting. So creative and so yummy. Amazing variety. The food is of a limited variety here but trust me it is definitely worth it!
