Known famously as ‘Elma’s Bakery’, this quaint designer bakery is the place to be if you want to get together with someone or even want to lose yourself in a current paperback. Elma’s will provide you the right backdrop for any kind of occasion. This lovely Hauz Khas Village entrant has fascinated the diners since its opening with gorgeous interiors and delicate Victorian vibe. From its second floor perch, the bakery looks upon a soothing view of the lake. It makes for a great ambience while you are enjoying your cuppa.
Elma’s Bakery is the perfect place to enjoy your morning waffle and watch Delhi wake up. With their wide range of breakfast options, they convince you to have a lavish breakfast before work. Their menu is a mix of Continental, American and Italian fare to be washed down with a pot of gourmet tea or Elma’s hot chocolate. If Elma’s is your evening haunt then start your meal with an array of appetizers. Wasabi prawns, zucchini fritters, sumac dusted falafels, polenta crusted crispy spicy chicken, pan seared fish cakes, mushroom duplex, Elma’s crispy potatos skins and paprika zatar grilled parwns, will do very nicely. For a tad heavier affair let chef tempt you with, fish ‘n’ chips, shepherd’s pie, the buff ‘un burger, exotic vegetable pizza, penne wild mushroom, ham & brie sandwich, whole Himalayan trout, aubergine & zucchini bake and chicken & mushroom pot pie.
The best part of dining at Elma’s is the amazingly delicious sugar concoctions they come up with. Add well-deserved inches to your waist by wading through the dessert course entailing, berry fudge cake, chocolate pillows, sweet tartlets, lemon meringue pie, pineapple surprise, New York cheese cake, hot ooey-gooey dough pudding, hot apple pie and classic tiramisu. There is so much to explore that one trip won’t be enough to Elma’s Bakery. A moss green stairway leads to this charming bakery. It then opens into an airy well-decorated room, which branches into several nooks and corners. Cozy twosome seats are placed all over the place, even next to the stairway, for you to relax in. Elma’s is not exactly cheap.
