Tidy and super friendly, the open kitchen at Getafix is most definitely a draw for those who are looking to eat healthy food and yet feel like they are being taken care of. A whole range of bowl meals helps you make great choices. Lots of salad options, allows you to eat delicious food while you count those calories and I love the 'Mexican Style Salad' as well as the 'Mix Grain Salad'. And you do not have to skip dessert here ever – 'Whole Wheat Crusted Apple Pie', 'Date Cake' sweetened only with date syrup and 'Whole Wheat Carrot Cake' are just some of the options you can choose from.
Getafix is a small cafe that prides itself on serving healthy food - its menu, which consists of basically American and Italian dishes, includes plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and (as an example) the very extensive list of smoothies on offer has optional extras that run the gamut from goji berries to chia seeds. The restaurant sits on the first floor (no lift, so you need to climb the stairs). While the restaurant's name, Getafix, conjures up the fictitious and delightful World of Asterix and Obelix, the only real nod to this is in the form of copies of the iconic comic books kept at each table. Other than that (and the fact that a number of the items on the menu carry a 'fix’ suffix as part of the name), there's really no attempt to carry the theme forward. My husband and I visited here on a Sunday morning for breakfast (Getafix opens at 8 in the morning, so it's a good option for breakfast). The all-day breakfast menu covers everything from cereal bowls and omelettes, eggs in other styles, pancakes, and a range of juices, smoothies and more. My husband decided to order eggs Florentine with a side order of sausages. I ordered an English breakfast with coffee (alternately, you can have tea). The food, which arrived within about ten minutes, was a mix of good and average. The eggs Florentine my husband ordered had the eggs beautifully cooked - lovely runny yolks - and the spinach was a fresh, vibrant green. However, I could not see or taste any hollandaise in the dish, though the waitress had informed us that the only difference between eggs Benedict and eggs Florentine was that of chicken ham versus spinach. (Looking back at my photo of the eggs Benedictine, I can see an odd-looking blob of yellow stuff atop each egg; I had thought this was yolk, but it could have been hollandaise. If that was the hollandaise, then it was certainly not what a hollandaise should be like). On the whole this was just about okay, not great. My English breakfast consisted of grilled tomato halves (not grilled enough as far as I was concerned), mashed potatoes, a generous serving of sauteed mushrooms, two slices of turkey ham (not pleasant), two fried eggs (nicely cooked, the yolks nice and runny) and two whole-wheat crepes topped with a sprinkle of mixed grains. Small jugs of honey and maple syrup were provided, so I covered the crepes with maple syrup, and had an enjoyable dessert at the end of my meal. The coffee was pretty milky; I realized later that I should have ordered an extra shot of espresso with it. We paid Rs 1380 for our meal, inclusive of all taxes and service charges. While the service was fine and the ambience was pleasant, the food wasn't great enough to tempt me to return.
It may look like your average neighborhood food joint, but GETAFIX is something which is unique. I wandered in with my friend on a Sunday afternoon and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma of delicious delicacies. GK1 market has never failed to impress us with the genre of cafes and lounges it has to offer. This time they got us a Health-conscious restaurant serving global comfort food in a funky contemporary dining room. We tried this place going by the name of Getafix and what do you know? We got fixed! The ambience is quirky and colourful with an abundance of positive vibes and serendipity all around. We loved the cushions laid out on the couches. Taking a comfortable seat just in front of television playing F.R.I.E.N.D.S. we ended up ordering nyan cat and spongebob in drinks, cheesy garlic bread, waldorf salad, mushroom caps, zucchini potato burger and lime pie in desserts. The service is amazing, staff is quick and knows the menu. Starting with salad, we loved the combination of apples, walnuts and Californian grapes in perfect salad dressing satiating us to the core. The garlic bread was again a delight with crispy bread topped with oodles of mozzarella cheese and oregano enhancing the flavour of the dish overall. We liked the mushroom caps too. A unique concept with pop sized mushrooms topped with veggies and mozzarella making it a perfect starter, especially for the vegetarians. The highlight of the evening was the zucchini burger served along with potato wedges and dip made from hung curd. The dessert was also one of a kind and must say a very bold decision of the management to keep lime pie in their option as one needs to develop a taste for this else it becomes difficult to do justice to the efforts put into the dish. The next best thing that happened was the smoothie section of this place where we tried the Nyan cat Smoothie which comprised of pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, mango and frozen yogurt. We being smoothie fanatics have had smoothie from almost everywhere and still in search of places serving some of the finest. Till date we have come across and getafix is the second. Amazing consistency, apt taste and full on satisfaction is what one can expect from this place! All in all, for a guilt free dining experience, this is the place to devour sumptuous food and have a memorable time! Coming over again soon! Cheers ;)
The juices, smoothies and the food are really good. We tried over a few days different dishes and got our favorites. The Indian cuisine is not the best there, but you don’t go there to have Indian food. The international dishes are healthy, tasty and for the small and big hunger. So definitely worth it. Chilled atmosphere.
Food is tasty - they are conscious about making it healthy - but I am not too sure. The smoothies are really very tasty and one can almost fill you up.
Workaholics like us are always on a lookout for a spot to laze around with our laptop for hours without any interruptions. Finding a quiet nice corner in a city like Delhi is next to impossible which is why we are here to help you find it. Delhi is filled with several quaint cafes and bistros but not all places are suitable for your hush-hush needs. The place we are going to introduce to you next is a charming corner of tranquillity in midst of a noisy bustling market. ‘Getafix’ is located on the first floor of M-15 in Greater Kailash (GK) 1 in New Delhi. The place is ideal for people looking to sit with their laptop or a book and relax in peace. As you reach the café, the hustle-bustle of the market zooms out leaving you with a vacuum of serenity.
In the times of greasy rich food trend, Getafix paves its own way by serving healthy food. There are plenty of salads and smoothies on the menu to give your system that much needed boost of nutrients. Also featured on Getafix’s menu is American and Italian cuisine, two crowd-pleasing fares we adore. The café opens quite early in the morning so stop by for some quinoa & oats crepes or masala omelette to kick-start your day. Follow that in the evening with few starters like, Thai salad, bruschetta, corn crusted chicken, mushroom caps and BBQ chicken wings. For a more substantial meal try, grilled fish burger, turkey & chicken sandwich, Lebanese pizza, mix mushroom pasta, Thai lentil bowl, air-fried fish & chips, jambalaya, Japanese soba noodle bowl and beetroot feta burger.
Opt for a glass of sir fix-a-lot to wash it all down. Getafix adds things like flax seeds, chia seeds and goji berries to make your drink even more nutritious. End your visit at Getafix with few comforting desserts. Have a vegan carrot cake or sugarless brownie or seasonal baked yogurt or apple crumble. Getafix is inspired from the popular ‘Asterix’ comics and reflects the same colourful intensity through brightly painted walls and youthful attractive décor. A mural of a European café street runs across one wall, drawing your eyes instantly to the café’s creative touch. Informal tables and high backed sofa chairs adds to ones comfort. Pick a book from their shelf if you are lonely. Its pocket-friendly in bargain.
