In the days before restaurant menus became more than 10 pages long, it was perfectly acceptable for an eatery to have just one specialty and a single page menu. This was a long time ago, but then, the pedigree of Kake Da Hotel goes back well over 70 years. Nobody else in the city makes a chicken curry quite like they do, it ought to be on the master menu of the city, should such a list ever be drawn up. The decor, such as it is, remains resolutely ramshackle, but the office-goers, students and budget travellers who crowd here day after day wouldn’t have it any other way.
