Located in Ashok Vihar, Soul Curry comes as a blessing for those looking to try good North Indian food in the area. With decent interiors, the place is apt for dining with family. They have an elaborate menu of North Indian and Mughlai food. The Vegetarian Kebab Platter is a great appetizer for vegetarians.
Ashok Vihar is one of the posh residential area in North Delhi and has perhaps more number of fine dine restaurants in it than many of its neighbours does combined. Not only does it boast of an impressive number of such outlets but most of them here have been operational for more than a decade which shows that this area embraced fine dine much earlier when most of North Delhi wasn't even aware of the concept. One such restaurant is Bellagio which has been operational since as long as I can remember. Soul curry is one of the three restaurants that collectively work under the name of bellagio. Spread over the first floor in this multi-storey building, Soul curry is not just famous for its fine dine experience but for the quality of food they serve as well. Right from their Kebabs to Tikkas, Chinese and continental snacks to Mughlai main course they will hardly give you any chance to pin point an error in their dishes neither in terms of taste nor in term of presentation. Each and every dish they present to you is fresh and is worth waiting for its arrival. I was here on a Sunday afternoon with some of my foodie friends and as I always prefer I went here in a fairly large group so that I could get more number of dishes to taste/try which would not have been possible otherwise in a smaller group. After settling down what could have been better than a veg platter and some drinks to start our meal with. Their Veg platter comprises of portions of Kebabs, Chaap and Paneer which are all those dishes that go perfectly well with the drinks. After this we got to try our hands upon their Tandoori Platter, Tandoori Soya Chaap and Chilli Mushrooms. All of these were equally balanced in terms of flavors and quantity which resulted in big smiles especially on the faces of vegetarians in the group. Done with the starters and the drinks we moved onto our Main course for which we ordered for their Dal makhni, Veg Biryani and Shahi paneer. Though this seems like the basic and ordinary order comprising of dishes that you can get anywhere but it is the taste and quality they are maintaining and serving that made these dishes stand out from the crowd. For desserts we had Phirni and Ras Malai and although the Phirni was good but out of the two the Ras Malai was a clear winner with its spongy softness submerged in the sweet and delicious ras. All in all if you are in this area looking for a fine dine place whether it is for a get together or a lunch or a Dinner with family or friends than you can definitely give this place a try.
Exploring Fine dining is a passion and Bellagio's Soul Curry just not only meets your requirements but simply 'melts into your mouth'. For good food, people go places simply enchanted by name and fame and if you are following an aroma, well, you relish it when relaxed. Yesterday I happened to be at Soul Curry along with friends to just hang on and some food. Soul Curry is the North Indian cuisine wing restaurant located on the first floor of Bellazio, in a market opposite Satyawati College, Delhi. Bellazio has multiple restaurants on different floors. As it was my first visit I was open to all the good, the bad and the ugly experience. The Restaurant has a class and has a sensually soothing ambience. The moment you sink into the sofa, you feel relaxed. Another moment you find being attended to and the Menu is like a Mine of Gastronomical delight. If the prices in menu pinch your eyes the discomfort may soon evaporate once your taste buds starts tingling. We started with chilled Pint beers (and they have Happy hours too) with accomplishments like roasted Papad and masala peanuts. Hot Sizzlers, when served on our table, were almost perfectly succulent . Our Main course was Dal makkhani, Biryani and Butter Chicken along with tandoori roti and Butter Naan. Theirs Biryani is so aromatic and perfect, it is 10/10. Butter Chicken 8.5/10. Dal I didnt taste but roti and naan were equally good. Service is prompt and friendly but can be more personalised. The overall finish experience is 'PLUS PLUS PLUS'. At the end you are relaxed, happy and satisfied with the food. What more an Epicurean soul can expect: Anand, Anand and Paramanand.
Whenever you are handed the responsibility to find a good restaurant for the next family dinner, your fingers often pauses over Indian restaurants. Indian cuisine is not only safe but if done right can leave you with a treasure trove of delicious memories. The cuisine is something that has something for everyone, from melt-in-your-mouth kebabs to fulfilling biryanis and soulful curries for the old-fashioned eaters. The cuisine never disappoints. Give your family something to drool about by taking them to this cool Indian restaurant, ‘Soul Curry’. With its cheerful smartly furnished interiors, the restaurant manages to draw families and office goers for a fulfilling meal. Lunch is highly busy for them, do book a table ahead. Soul Curry is perched on the 1st Floor, Community Center, Ashok Vihar Phase 2, New Delhi.
Soul Curry very aptly curates a pleasing curry heavy menu, offering it for pretty reasonable prices. A delightful combination of North Indian and Mughlai dishes woos your senses, backed by a decent bar menu to match it every step of the way. Menu is packed with variety. Begin with a soup or a starter of your choice. We suggest skip the booze and opt for a refreshing Indian cooler instead. Taazi subzion ka ras or jaljeera will do the job nicely. For first course enjoy a spread of appetizers like, dahi bhalla, tandoori pomfret, paneer tikka kali mirch, murgh afghani, tandoori soya chaap, fish tawa masala, vegetable seekh kabab and lagan ki boti. Polish off the curries next. Sample, paneer mango achari, egg curry, prawn butter masala, dal gosht, murgh korma, bhuna gosht, methi matar malai, Bengali fish curry and brain curry.
Soul Curry puts special focus on it’s bread section, which sees options like, kesar ka parantha, naan changezi, ginger naan, kandhari naan, rogani naan and naan balochistani. Bring the meal to an end with an assortment of rich Indian desserts. Zafrani phirni, rasmalai, gulab jamun, shahi tukda and kesar kulfi will leave you in a satisfied mood. As you walk into Soul Curry, you will come to a romantically lit room with a comfortable formal seating style. Orange and beige colour combination gives the dining room a welcoming vibe. Décor is smart, comfortable and a tad old-fashioned. It would make for a good place for family dinners or even team lunches. Ambience is peppy, refined and comforting.
