The pan Asian cuisine has become a most favourite dinner option for Delhiets. We now know our sushi and uramaki pretty well. Out of many pan Asian restaurants in delhi The yum yum tree at New friends colony has become a regularly visited haunt for lazy Sundays and family dinners. The yum yum is a huge property spreading out to 10,000 square feet and divided into separate areas namely, wine cellar, main restaurant, the bar, Japanese grill section and the terrace. Each area is spacious and classily decorated. The restaurant is smart enough to feature in a magazine and delicious enough to be mentioned to friends. Red and white room with huge motifs printed on the ceiling, chandeliers and cut work screens concealing the tables reflects good taste. The conveyer belt system being unique saves time and delivers food efficiently. The chef is skilled and trained well which reveals in his cooking. The menu covers Thai, sushi, dim sums, Chinese fare in contemporary style.

One can start the meal with sampling miso butter fish, crispy lamb, sliced garlic chicken, lemongrass tofu, spicy mock duck, lantern chilli prawns, beef bulgogi, edamame and recommended tempura prawn. Everyone’s favourite dim sums can be ordered in basket platters. Chicken sui mai and pink crabs are yummiest versions. Ramen fans can sip on the aromatic broth with pork belly or vegetable kind. Main course section is filled with power packed proteins and meats and vegetable with multiple sauces. The traditionally Asian aromatics ginger, chilli, basil, soy, black bean, garlic and coriander roots are used to intensify the taste. The prawn and basil sticky rice along with chicken pad thai noodles are sublime. Its like a one way ticket to Bangkok. The potions are decent and you won’t feel cheated. The chef certainly knows what he is doing at Yum yum tree. The sushi section is well prepared too. If haven’t tried sushi yet then this is the place to dive in. Their signature geisha sushi roll is a must try.

In desserts don’t stop at one thing prefer a platter for three choices. Cheesecake is delish. So have that. The staff at Yum yum tree surpasses expectations. Well informed and cordial they are a onus point. The restaurant spreads out for an exciting brunch on Sundays if you dig variety in your meal. Overall the place is not that expensive, just falling into thousand bucks per head category.
