It all began in the year 1997 when Turquoise Cottage started operations. Every restaurant is a combination of three factors: location, ambience and food, but Turquoise Cottage soon developed a fourth – the X Factor. It was – and is – that which pulled in the punters. Gigs, a first-rate sound system, a lively buzz thanks to the media and advertising people who patronized it, and above all, a cool vibe. It is no mean feat to keep on the same vibe almost 20 years later when competition overwhelms and when the original patrons are now senior citizens, but a court case and several moves later, the vibe is still in place!
Café TC or as lovingly addressed by fans Turquoise Cottage is the godfather of cafes. One of the oldest and still the hottest café TC has been a crowd magnet for decades. The founders of this café have grown old but this place has retained its charm in the people’s hearts. The café has been around since 1997 earning instant fame from media and gastro buffs equally. Its green & yellow interiors with brick wall and retro pictures have benefited the theme they were trying to establish. The chairs are mismatched and multi coloured throwing a blast of hues to the scene. Retro music creates nostalgia and revives old memories so to say the least the music is a huge hit. Staff is friendly and very attentive. The personal service really enlightens the visit. But no café can survive this long without not good but great food.
