Café TC or as lovingly addressed by fans Turquoise Cottage is the godfather of cafes. One of the oldest and still the hottest café TC has been a crowd magnet for decades. The founders of this café have grown old but this place has retained its charm in the people’s hearts. The café has been around since 1997 earning instant fame from media and gastro buffs equally. Its green & yellow interiors with brick wall and retro pictures have benefited the theme they were trying to establish. The chairs are mismatched and multi coloured throwing a blast of hues to the scene. Retro music creates nostalgia and revives old memories so to say the least the music is a huge hit. Staff is friendly and very attentive. The personal service really enlightens the visit. But no café can survive this long without not good but great food.
Turquoise cottage at MG road, Gurgaon has fantastic menu and even better food. TC kitchen serves pan Asian fare with delicious soups and salads as starters. Tom yum, roast chicken & cheese soup, watermelon & feta salad, crispy fried wonton salad and oriental lime & chicken salad are made of freshest of produce. General tso’s dumplings, gyoza which are kind of pot stickers, spring rolls and if you are in a larger group then chicken sampler and seafood sampler. Railway cutlets, bruschetta, poutine, prawn tempura, southern style gun powder chicken, fish fingers, chilli cheese popcorn all make the most amazing starting menu. Burgers and sandwiches are some filling option too. Italian dishes are cooked too so pizza fans, hail for pizza. Mains menu is an interesting set of dishes. Seared charmoula sole with thai mayo, spit roasted chicken, cottage cheese steak with rosemary veloute, chicken roulade, spiced pancakes, grilled new Zealand lamb chops, fish ‘n’ chips, are worth tasting once. The food is prepared with care and is extremely delicious. The chef out does himself.
Chilled beer, scotch, whisky, cocktails, vodka are house stocked too. If you want to add zing to your party then shots will be fun. Go for them! Non alcoholics need not be sad. Virgin drinks are on the menu too. Turquoise cottage hosts live gigs too and karaoke nights are a laugh riot. To have this much fun you don’t need a fat wallet. Just pull nine hundred bucks from ATM and lose yourself in TC magic.
