Dunes Café offers a very pleasant breakfast experience with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The buffet spread is extensive, with a wide variety of food items catering to different tastes. Some dishes were truly delicious, while others felt more on the average side. However, the bakery section stood out — the croissants and pastries were especially fresh and delightful.

On the downside, service could be more attentive. Used plates were left on the table for quite a while, which gave the impression that staff were not equally attentive to all guests. This small detail affected the otherwise premium atmosphere.

Parking is conveniently available at the backside of the hotel, making access easy.

Verdict:
A great spot for a hearty breakfast with lots of choices, particularly recommended for bakery lovers. With a bit more attention to service, it could easily become one of the top breakfast destinations in Dubai.

I visited the Seafood Night yesterday at The Dunes restaurant in Shangri-La Dubai, and while the experience was pleasant overall, there are a few points worth noting. Compared to the seafood night at the Shangri-La Abu Dhabi, the variety in Dubai has noticeably decreased. Each time I return, I find the selection becoming more limited, which is disappointing for a theme night that once offered a richer range of options.

What truly elevates the experience, however, is the staff. Their professionalism and genuine hospitality stand out, and I would especially like to acknowledge Ahmed Saker , who spared no effort to ensure we were comfortable throughout the evening. His attentiveness and warm approach added real value to the visit.

Overall, the restaurant maintains a welcoming atmosphere and excellent service, but I hope to see the seafood variety return to the higher standards previously offered.

4 stars buffet
The chair is a bit hazardous, very bad design.   Back leg is slanted outward.  Easy for people to get trip over.

I had an amazing dining experience here! The atmosphere is warm, lively, and beautifully set up — especially the open kitchen where you can see the chefs preparing everything fresh. The chef was incredibly friendly and welcoming, even showing some of the dishes being cooked, which added a fun and personal touch to the visit.

The food was outstanding! Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The selection of meats and marinades was impressive, and each dish tasted even better than it looked. You can really tell the ingredients are high quality and prepared with care.

The service was excellent as well — attentive, polite, and professional. The staff made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal, and everything arrived promptly.

Overall, this restaurant truly deserves 5 stars. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended! ?✨

Great experience at Dunes Café! Sean was very helpful and courteous, assisting us with everything we needed. Ahmed, the Chief Captain, was very supportive and showed excellent customer service. The food was excellent, and the whole team was welcoming. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely come back!
