Flying Elephant is a restaurant and bar in the Barsha area of Dubai serving Indian and finger food with cocktails. Known for cocktails and bar bites; ideal for drinks and date nights.

Keeping it simple: incredible cocktails, very slick, lowkey speakeasy vibes that does get a little bit loud later on, and surprisingly amazing modern Indian bites.

My top 3 dishes:

1) Bar Rah Lamb Chops: medium rare, some of the best lamb chops I've had in the city till date. Perfect cook, amazing marination and accompanying gravy, just a hit all around.

2) Activated charcoal prawn: wow. Just melts in your mouth as a creamy, smoky delight.

3) Wagyu Bombay toast: Delectable little toast with tawa masala Wagyu. I think this dish might actually work even better if the toast was softer instead of hard/crispy - but nevertheless a really strong dish with the savory  and sweet flavors of masala completing the wagyu strip.

The paneer dishes were awesome too - one of us was vegetarian and had a great time.

The only dish that left me wanting a bit more from it was the crab kurkuri balls. I think the crab's taste was overpowered and it tasted closer to a cheese/arancini ball so I'd really recommend if the crab could come through a bit stronger then this would be awesome.

The cocktails were standouts as well. All their happy hour drinks were amazing but their signature cocktails were outstanding (mausambi high ball, gulab jal, and the elephant bath - the last one in particular).

The ambience is amazing. It's hard to find a relaxing, lowkey yet classy speakeasy etyle bar in Dubai that reminds me of the amazing spots in New York but this one is it. Great atmosphere.

I did however knock one star off primarily because it gets a little *too* loud for my taste at just 8:30. We arrived at 6:30 and it was perfect and the music was such a vibe. But around 8:30 on it got really loud and killed the mood for us a bit. We had to shout/really strain our voices to talk while sitting across from and next to each other. We did ask if they could lower the volume just a smidge but it didn't seem like it was possible.

If it weren't for this, this would be a 5 star place in my books. I'll still be going back frequently as the cocktails, overall mood, and food are incredible.

So for a casual vibe and good conversations I definitely recommend going earlier but if you're down to jam, go later!

It's our first visit after hearing very positive feedback and we were not disappointed. We were well received ved and served by Yash as well as Kai who was super sweet, polite & professional. Both were very knowledgeable in terms of the menu and in offering suggestions. We initially came for just 1 round of drinks but stayed for a few more rounds only because of them. As fellow hospitality and bar professionals I definately recommend both the venue and to be looked after by these 2. Back very soon! Keep up the great work!

This place is a local gem! Excellent cocktails - I had the Paloma and Margarita and my husband had an Old Fashioned and the Tangra Project, all with an Indian twist and delicately and deliciously crafted. We weren’t hungry but got tempted by the food menu and tried out the Murgh Lazizi which was amazing! Vikas was very friendly and helpful with suggesting drinks and dishes and he elevated our experience. Highly recommend for a relaxed evening out!

We had the brunch, it was good & worth the money we spend ( Entertainer used). The ambience is unique, with lot of opportunities to get a good click. The food & drinks were satisfying. The service was top notch, with extra attention. Highly recommended brunch.

Absolutely amazing place! The Flying Elephant has an awesome vibe — stylish, lively, and just a great atmosphere overall.
