We had a wonderful brunch at Hon Ai at Shangri-La Dubai, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The food was exceptional, every dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and clearly prepared with great attention to detail.
What truly stood out was the service. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our visit. They made us feel very welcome and ensured everything was perfect from start to finish.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for amazing food and outstanding hospitality. We will definitely be coming back!

Hoi An Restaurant offers really good Vietnamese food at a very reasonable price for the quality and location. Every dish was flavorful, well presented, and truly enjoyable.

What made the experience stand out even more was that the chef personally came to our table to ask about our food and overall experience — such a thoughtful and rare touch that made us feel truly valued as guests. The staff were also very accommodating, friendly, and attentive throughout the evening.

The ambiance is also very nice, calm, and quiet, making it perfect for a relaxed dinner or a special occasion. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with great food, warm service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended. ?

The menu is rich with classic Vietnamese dishes—from fresh spring rolls and flavorful pho to perfectly grilled meats and aromatic lemongrass stir-fries. I highly recommend the Bún Bò Huế and Cao Lầu—both were bursting with authentic flavor, rich broth, and fresh herbs. Every dish is beautifully presented and tastes just like it came from a home kitchen in Hoi An.

Last night we visited Hoi An Restaurant for dinner and had a wonderful culinary experience. It is a Vietnamese restaurant located in Shangri-La Dubai. The vibrant Vietnam-inspired interiors looks charming and welcoming. Perfectly crafted traditional Vietnamese food with a modern touch by Chef Nguyen Si Thai was delightful.

Somewhat overpriced Vietnamese fare in an upscale hotel. There was nothing wrong with the food, though, which was quite good.

Portions are also ridiculously small too.

Service isn't fast, which I will take to mean that everything is made fresh to order, and that's good.

Ambience is very "hotely" but he serving staff were lovely and friendly and helpful.

Unlimited selection of Vietnamese dishes freshly-cooked-to-order ? we got to try all of their brunch menu items ?

Verdict:
Hot starters: Everything was very good, my favorite was the Pan-seared crab cakes, Vietnamese rocket prawn rolls and the Vietnamese Rice Pancake
Cold starters: The salad and spring rolls were so fresh and delicious - we ordered again ?
Soup: Both Tamarind Fish Soup and seaweed soup were good, they served it in a little bowl which is just enough not to make you full
Main course: Outstanding! The duck curry was delicious and the seabass was great ? The egg noodles was excellent, it was fried that made it interesting and outstanding ?
Desserts: The fried banana and taro is outstanding

Location: ⭐️⭐️⭐️okay.. by Sheikh Zayed. Considering what hotels around town offer now (beautiful view, lovely interior), I’d say Shangri La needs a bit of an upgrade
Ambience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ okay, nothing spectacular, music was all over the place, interior was somewhat drab and old school
Food: ⭐️⭐️ had to salt a lot on the table. The food served lacked detail and love - felt like they needed to churn out food (even though the restaurant was sparsely occupied with guests), the food lacked the depth of flavor that I know Vietnamese food to have
Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️the ladies were quick, attentive and pleasant. Service was good

It was my birthday.. Lovely atmosphere. Not a crowded restaurant. Tables are spaced out nicely. The staff was welcoming and Angel was quite helpful. Food was quite tasty.. If you love Vietnamese food, fine dining then this is your spot.. Prawn crackers on the house, had some yummy seafood starter, lemon sorbet while waiting, while waiting for the main, Australian tenderloin Vietnamese curry with fried rice.  It was just fabulous. Great service, food, atmosphere. Dessert was coffee chocolate, caramel, ice cream something. I highly recommend this place. Its not a cheap spot.. But its what you pay for fine dining..
